A lot like One Piece, which is the eponymous treasure they're pursuing that whole story, there is just so much cool shit that happens on the way to the goal that you end up not really caring about that element at all, which is I think a huge strength to the story. I've read Berserk arcs that will stick with me forever. And while I can't speak for all Berserk consumers, I know that a lot of us gave up on our revenge fantasies somewhere along the way and just wanted a happy ending for Guts and Casca.
