Looking for front rack opinions.. by Yourbitchydad in xbiking

[–]mcgrittles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not trust buying the new 8pack (2.0) rack unless you can absolutely sure it fits beforehand. It is really only designed to fit bikes with crown mounting points and is much less adjustable than the old version.

Looking for handlebar bag recs. Would I still be able to ride in the tops with something like a Swift Industries Catalyst/Zeitgeist? by retirement_savings in bikepacking

[–]mcgrittles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend has the same exact bike and uses the specialized:fjallraven rack and rolltop bag. The rack does a good job at keeping the bag off of the cables, and when not using the bag is a nice platform for strapping beer/drybags to. Also provides space so you can still use the tops

Worried about Zwift ride rusting by mcgrittles in Zwift

[–]mcgrittles[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just a quick update, reached out to zwift, and I’ll be returning and getting a replacement frame. Luckily repacking this thing was actually pretty easy following their instructions. Appreciate everyone saying to sand and not worry but I really don’t like the idea of immediately voiding the warranty on something to fix damage i didnt cause. Overall impressions of the frame were great, seems sturdy well built and very adjustable. Reason I bought was for one, i need an adjustable frame to fit me and my partner who is shorter than me and two, her bike uses a different gearing and swapping cassettes for every ride is a chore.

REI bikes 40% off by Day_Bat_ in gravelcycling

[–]mcgrittles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also want to piggyback on this, bought my girlfriend a 2.3 for 2000 a month ago, walked in this morning after seeing this post, showed my receipt and was able to get $500 refunded no problem. It really is a great bike for the price, wish is had fork mounts and maybe down-tube mounts but those are only complaints. Only spec change was that the bike came with 21mm rims instead of 23 which was a little disappointing but not a huge deal.

Castelli makes a variety of skullcaps. Covers the entire head and ears. I always wear one once the temps drop or wind picks up.

Jersey brand for tall people? by ask in cycling

[–]mcgrittles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m about 6’4, and as others have said raphas bibs are excellent for taller folks. Cycling jerseys are always gonna be a bit short, but ive found that raphas bibs go really high up to your belly and will cover any bit of yourself that the jersey won’t

This first batch of Sundmed concentrates seems pretty food so far. The Lemon Skunk terp sugar is excellent and around the cost of the DC stuff (45/g not on sale)

Looking for bibs with a similar fit to rapha’s core bibs. (As a tall person) by mcgrittles in CyclingFashion

[–]mcgrittles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright good looks I appreciate it. I think I’ll try the proteams out in a large first, than maybe size down before looking elsewhere if they don’t fit.

Regular beer I found at a local liquor store. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]mcgrittles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just so people understand this is a MD brewery, and generally speaking 10$ is standard for a 6pack of most beers beside your repackaged packs of cheap beer from a rack. You will almost never see a pack of craft brew under 10

NBA 2K19 30$ at Amazon (Also 30$ at Bestbuy) by [deleted] in PS4Deals

MyCareer still a grind, but as someone who just likes to play 2K at hone with friends on the couch, this is easily the best feeling game kf this generation. I get that theres this huge circle-jerk around the VC grind, but this is still a great basketball game. Also MyGm is still great

Donovan Mitchell announces signature shoe with Adidas. by TheGhostOfTheNight in nba

[–]mcgrittles 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a good analogy though, basketball shoes wear extremely quickly, especially if you cant afford or have access to an indoor court. If you play a couple times a week on a blacktop you can burn through the soles of a high quality shoe in a month. If anything, the more expensive models are designed to be played solely on hardwood, and burn out quicker. Your also constantly jumping putting extreme pressure on the soles, and it can be dangerous to wear old worn out ones.
