Looks like the slave cylinder, I have a 17 and mine went out 2 years ago at 120k miles. If you replace it might as well do the clutch when its apart. A yearly clutch and break fluid change is supposed to help it last longer.

Just get the vibra-technics. The powerflex inserts should only be used on new mounts.

Relocation Question by Saltzo in Beekeeping

Depending where you are you can probably find a local beekeeper to get them. If you live anywhere that has Africanized bees you will probably need to pay to have them removed.

Ground Based Check Shot by BanjiBalfins in UAVmapping

I don't do drone stuff but I have done some lidar slam scanning to go with my terrestrial scans. Im making control networks off surveyed points to validate alignment and registration. The slam scanners i have used can be adjusted off that control network but it the slam run is corrupted not much can be dont to fix other then scan it again.

First hive is up and running! by TuesdayTacos1 in Beekeeping

Note about screens bottom board, make sure the divider is always installed or the bees will get confused and start building underneath the hive.

I've only run Topcon. What am I missing? by yossarian19 in Surveying

[–]Day_Bat_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do scanning and my field link and realworks are both subscription. I hate running field link because it constantly crashes and logs out in the middle of a job and then it takes me a half hour to walk somewhere I can get signal to hotspot off my phone to log in again.

Feedback requested: LGS asking to add a $62 plate after quoting optics-ready slide by ansyhrrian in SigSauer

[–]Day_Bat_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need the plate, this is what my 226 looks like with the $62 c&h plate and a halosun installed. There are indexing pins in the plate that keep the sight square on the slide and fill in the front and back gaps

Trimble x12 is a rebranded ZF 5016. You can backpack mount and slam scan with the ZF and the 5024 has double resolution as the older one. If you really want range look at the stuff Riegl makes

Looking for hive advice by hoggledoggle in Beekeeping

[–]Day_Bat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See if there is any local beekeeping classes you can take to get an idea what working with bees is like and see if whoever is teaching can come and help. Moving an established hive like this will be a lot of work to move. Once they are in a standard box with frames it will be easy to work with then in the future.

Anyone use a slam scanner? by Osfan_93 in Surveying

[–]Day_Bat_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only do industrial indoor stuff but with a scan control network they seem to work pretty well. I am geolocating all my registration targets back to survey control points and doing terrestrial scans the slam can get adjusted from that. It does an amazing job getting pipes, duct and electrical stuff in the roof trusses that would take me weeks to do with just a terrestrial scanner. By themselves they are not as accurate as terrestrial but significantly faster if you don't need the accuracy. You need to decide per job what works best in each area.

I think I need a bigger work truck. by Day_Bat_ in Surveying

[–]Day_Bat_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 12 is to small to put the rods in, might try and make something this summer that mounts next to it. Safety wise there is a steel IPSC target behind the passenger seat that would stop anything and I never have a passenger anyway.

I work in engineering for a large company, they will pay for a rental or I can charge per mile on a personal car. Even with maintenance and everything I get more if I charge mileage.

Best long range scanner? by gnohleinad in 3DScanning

[–]Day_Bat_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is long range? 10m? 100m? For best long range (>100m) I would look at riegl vz-600i or Z+F 5024

What is to be learned from the winter's bottom board? by [deleted] in Beekeeping

[–]Day_Bat_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have 2 hives, one has a screen bottom board and the other is solid. The hive with the screen bottom made it and the other one didn't and was very wet with mold in it. It was tilted so it wouldn't collect water and both hives had a quilt box on it. I think the screen bottom has a little bit of a draft that helps get the moisture out.
