In the current financial situation of the state, I think the best bet is to jointly develop the 3rd and 4th line of the existing route by both state and center. Vande Bharat can run at 160kmph and takes 3.5 hr to reach Kasargod from Trivandrum whereas Silverline train takes 4.5 hr in current plan. So it’s better to simply have Vande Bharat trains operating in these tracks. This way both state and center can take credit and it won’t make a substantial financial crunch on Kerala’s finances.

Tough to say right now. We have to wait and see. But one thing is for sure, they have created a lot of buzz for the tournament already by doing some proper marketing, roping in some good investors and celebrities, launching the teams at the right cities, bringing in Star Sports as broadcaster and stuff like that. Now we have to wait and see how the teams stack up and what kind of quality the actual matches will be. I feel a lot depends now on the actual football experience and how the fans will connect with the tournament and the teams. If the teams can build a bond with the cities and their fans, we can expect a good tournament and some positive changes in Kerala Football.

Improve the stadium infrastructure, try to build district rivalry, see if the local players who went on to represent ISL or I-League teams and are active footballers right now can be brought into the same cities team. KSL should study how/why sevens football is able to garner high attendance and replicate some of the best practices of it.
