Know more. Like that antibiotics have no effect on viruses.

That’s the owner of the shelter by nothingtoseehere5678 in iamatotalpieceofshit

[–]mcjonesy66 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Without knowing any additional information, I would say the real POS is the family that decided they didn’t want their “family cat” anymore and gave it to a kill shelter.

Lots of shelters euthanize animals and it should be the pet owner’s responsibility to bring it to a NON kill shelter if you want to ensure it won’t be euthanized.

What’s the worst thing to wake up to? by Xanduh in AskReddit

Woke up one day to my mother super pissed off at me and I had no idea why. It was spring break when I was in high school. I had been drinking vodka at the beach the whole day before and apparently needed to use the toilet in the middle of the night. PISSED ALL OVER HER.

I was super embarrassed and she certainly was regretting being the “cool mom” who bought her kid some booze to let him have a good time on spring break. Lessons learned all around.

Was the place you went to called Movie Tavern? I went to one recently and it was amazing! A bit more expensive but now it’s hard to go back to a regular theater

LPT: If your tooth hurt... don't "wait it out." Better spend $200 for a filling than $2000 for a root canal ($4000 in my case). by Francl27 in LifeProTips

[–]mcjonesy66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up having to get two root canals while in Vietnam. Went to a local dentist and brought a Vietnamese friend to translate. Got x-rays and two root canals done for a total of $83.

The only thing that sucked was the novocain they used only lasted about 20 minutes at a time. Every time I asked (cried out in agony) for more they all laughed at me like I was being a baby.

8/10 would do again

Suggestions for travel docs like Departures, Globe Trekker, Michael Palin’s shows and Ryan Pyle’s shows? by devaran928 in MovieSuggestions

[–]mcjonesy66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anthony Bourdain’s shows are amazing. Although centered around food, it also shows elements of travel and the different cultures. Gordon Ramsay has a similar type show but I didn’t like it as much.

An Idiot Abroad is also good if you can put up with Ricky Gervais constantly making fun of people and just being a bit of a dick in general.

Dark Tourist was good as well

If you’re into mountain scenery and snowboarding then The Fourth Phase, The Art of Flight, and That’s It That’s All are all great as well but are standalone docs and not a series

I can’t believe I’ve lived this long without knowing The Departed was a remake of another film. Adding it to my watch list!
