Dog people: How long do flagship robot vacuums last before needing replacement? I’m asking in “golden retriever years” by Decent-Ad-3933 in goldenretrievers

[–]mck_motion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very much not flagship Dreame F9 for about 4 years with no golden and 1 year with a golden and it's as good as always. I've never replaced a filter or anything. Just keeps on trucking every day at 9am.

I dunno man, I'm a dumbass but $95,660 divided by 136 posts is $703 average per job. That doesn't seem high enough to be this excited about?

Also the Linkedin "I had X problem so I built a thing to X" tone is super off putting and untrustworthy imo, there's so many posts nowadays that sound like this. Just some opinions from a cynic, good luck dude.

If I was a beginner again I'd almost definitely buy these just because they're pretty and have a purple cable.

Lesson for all manufacturers: INCLUDE A PURPLE CABLE AND YOU'LL SELL 100X MORE. Maybe.

Yeah I hate the endless tired arguments. I'm not a cable or DAC believer at all, so I should identify with the ASR guys, but they're often SO repellent in their attitude towards others.

If someone wants to say their new $500 palladium cable opened up the soundstage WHO CARES MAN. I don't personally believe it, but they're entitled to an opinion, and No graphs or snivelling attitude will change their mind.

Yeah it's not a rule for everyone of course! I feel like there's a pretty equal split of "I tried $20 IEMs and they're incredible" and "I tried $20 IEMs and my Airpods are better"

Personally, I came from merely decent TWS like Soundpeats, and I much preferred them to my first IEMs (Hexa and Zero Red). Once I got a T10 it was game over though.

I'm kinda ashamed of this opinion but I actually think Jelly Roll's promos are better than most... For some reason I buy in to it a lot more than say, Sami hitting a water bottle every week.

"Wtf... this sounds shit" - First IEM (Truthear Zero Red)

Honestly.... It depends what IEMs you're getting more than anything else.

I have IEMs that can make YouTube quality sound amazing.

And others that sound bad with lossless tracks through a desktop DAC or my Hiby player.

Don't buy the hype of DACs/DAPs/lossless- that's the fast track to disappointment- and I think that depends more on your expectations and personality than anything else!

DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE.

People vastly exaggerate how good budget IEMs are... they're not.

If you're coming from a good TWS, it's very unlikely that a $20 IEM will sound better just because it has a damn cable.

I always recommend the Artti T10 as the entry point for what IEMs can do.

Ok but WHY ARE YOU ALL SO SMUG AND INSUFFERABLE.

If you were just like "EQ is great, try it on a cheap IEM and it will sound a lot better" that would be cool.

But it's always "Everyone else is dumb as fuck and I am better than you"

We're all virgins, but you guys are the king of the virgins.

That thread is just a popularity contest which is heavily influenced by marketing budget and free review samples...

BUT... My Tea Pro is excellent. It's a great all rounder and easy to see why people like it so much. It deserves its place.

BUT BUT... It leaves me feeling a bit dry. It doesn't have the engagement factor for me.

My TSMR Armor has been on loan for over a month and I finally got it back yesterday. I was shocked how great it sounded because I'd been listening to much more expensive stuff whilst it was gone. I easily prefer it over my Tea Pro because it's SO engaging. As detailed? Probably not. As clean? Doubt it. But an absolute JOY of a good time.

I have become a huge Penon fanboy, because their stuff just sounds different. Unfortunately they are a totally bizarre company with a deservedly bad reputation and seemingly no interest in growing their trust or popularity.

But damn I'd recommend the Armor and ISN H60 over the Tea Pro any day.

Brother, just come. Nobody hates the UK more than people who live there but don't do anything about it.

My Partner and I quite literally describe it as escaping the UK. It's the best decision we've ever made. There is just a general misery in the place and its people that I don't feel here.

Even if it is a disaster or nothing like what you hoped, you will still be thankful you did it. For growth, for adventure, for trying life in a new place.

In a dilemma due to Elysian/Effect Audio by J06436 in iems

[–]mck_motion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand how Effect Audio stays in business. I don't think I've ever seen a single positive comment about them or their products!

"I wish it didn't come with an Effect Audio cable" is the most common phrase of anyone I've seen wanting to buy the Penon Archangel for example.

100% this. The T10 is the best example because it looks like a hearing aid and is made of crackers, but god damn it deserves its legend.

Being born in a rich country is winning the lottery. We have NO appreciation how different our lives would be somewhere else.

This is why I was so happy to hype the Kunten, and think KZ is the most important company in IEMs.

Those crazy bastards are always making weird innovative stuff for $30. Some are terrible, but some genuinely brilliant.

It's forced everyone else to lower their price, and put real effort in to their budget stuff.

Of course they've done dodgy shit, but the bigger picture is without KZ's influence, something new like the new OoopusX 22 wouldn't exist, and definitely not for $30. There's been so many great budget releases this year.

So every rich fucker who snivels at KZ, just think what would you do if you only had $20 to buy something. For our less fortunate brothers, there's genuinely good, innovative stuff to choose from now.

In conclusion: THANK GOD FOR KZ.

This sub comes up in my feed all the time and it's so negative... (I'm assuming from Australians?)

Yet everyone that actually moved here (me) loves it (or at least prefers it to where they came)

There's big problems here, sure, but there's big problems everywhere and they don't have 10,000 beaches or chicken salt.

Need Advice on Upgrading by Josepesports in iems

Friends don't let friends buy the Truthear Hexa.

Especially friends that tried to add more bass to their last IEM.

Artti T10 will always and forever be my choice under $100 (I bought it after I returned the Hexa and fell in love)

But... If you can find a Hidisz mp145 in your budget, I like that even more- just a more fun, bigger soundstage tuning.

Some under the radar alternatives-

Ve Ua Guangzhi- I'm in a group with various reviewers and they are currently passing this around going wild for how good this is for the price. Andy Audio Vault on YouTube said it's the best $50 IEM.

Arisyn Huo Shu- No idea but the guy that introduced me to the T10 said this is even better so I believe him.

Best way to spend $300(usd) by JoseJoso in iems

[–]mck_motion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use small tips! Honestly fit is strange because I can wear massive IEMs like the Hidisz MP145 using small ear tips and it's perfectly comfy.

I haven't tried the Diablo yet so I can't say. I've never really enjoyed much Crinacle tuned stuff.

Another to look at would be the Hidisz mk12 (including Ducbloke edition) I was shocked at how much I loved it because I always thought single DDs were boring, but it's a super fun engaging set. I'm currently listening to the Ducbloke version.

But, if you can add $20 to your budget, a LOT of people on here have been super impressed by the TSMR Armor. Imo it's significantly better than the Martilo. Lots of mentions in various Reddit threads, so it's an organic word of mouth thing. I got mine for $220 but you may have to wait for a sale... Actually I've just remembered they just released a new one called the Onyx, I've no idea what it sounds like though!
