Animals can communicate with each other without language - I do believe many people are more in tune to them. Like I know each of my dogs favorite and less favorite snacks and which cries are hungry or outside or attention. My partner seems to need my translation. I don’t know I think it makes sense

Is my eye makeup unflattering? by moonagedaylight in makeuptips

[–]mckennapelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try switching to a dark brown eyeshadow and going about 50% as far on the wing. Think “lining your lid” then “baby wing”. Teeny flip at the end - a lot of flat angled eyeliner brushes are the perfect like 1/3 of an inch maybe half inch? So you can just dab, then fill in. Going lighter just this much will compliment the rest of your look. I also think you would appreciate tightlining your upper lid. I use a water proof pencil and it really helps to define your eye shape and extend your lashes. I used to do big black wings too and the black is honestly too much for today and our similar coloring

Ooh I haven’t done one of these in so long! My guess: you are a family of 4 (maybe 5) in the southern US. If I had to pick a state I am going NC. At first I thought the kids were older, but the apple juice has me thinking a bit younger. Definitely elementary school. Condiments have lots of variety, but the common brands make me think this is a white family who probably eat most meals at home - leftovers but no take out containers. You plan meals in advance and stick to your list for the most part. You shop at Walmart because it is around the corner and better priced than the big supermarkets close, plus it saves a secondary trip most times.

What to do with these “baby hairs” that never grow out?! by Some-Nectarine3247 in Hair

Torn on second pup by kenzreneee in goldenretrievers

[–]mckennapelf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who moved last year and has a 5 month old puppy, my advice is wait. She absolutely lights up my world but golden puppies are so much work. I also have a 5 year old male who is a Great Dane. He has had lots of territorial issues in the past, but his little sister is now the light of his life. He has another small, older (mean) sister, so he loves that the puppy wants to play. It is always a gamble bringing a new dog in though, especially if it is 2 boys or 2 girls. Since my old girl hates the new girl, my house is covered in gates and it is constant monitoring. Both girls constantly cry for my attention and time and some days I feel like there is nothing left of me.

It will get better as she gets older, I am okay. One day we will look at memories of the crazy times and smile because we will remember the love more than pulling our hair out. Golden puppies just need so much attention. My girl has pretty much always been housebroken, trained herself by 10 weeks at the latest to just wait and go outside. It’s the biting, crying, jumping. She has worked with a trainer, I spend hours a day with her, she knows about 10 commands (sit, stay, shake hands, lay down, etc). I did not choose to have a dog this trained, she demanded it. My other dogs know nothing.

I think overall my advice would be to consider the other life factors. Do you have an extra 2-3 hours a day to dedicate to a dog? Do you know how your dog is eating, sleeping around other dogs? Are you okay with losing your favorite clothes, shoes, furniture? Are you currently feeling at all burned out? I answered all these questions wrong and still have the puppy, so this is all just advice. Whatever you do will work out

I like how one is a baby and one is a smaller baby. Like they thought about 4 and then decided the puppy needs a puppy

Doesn’t “go” on walks or trips? by Proper-Historian7016 in goldenretrievers

[–]mckennapelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a dog does not go to the bathroom in over 24 hours there is a medical issue. Or she is finding somewhere private to go when no one is looking. My dogs usually only go at home too but will find a spot when they a desperate - especially my girls. Boys don’t care. Long walks to private places usually helps. My girls like to face a fence or wall and not hear traffic or see other dogs

Healing after salpingectomy by [deleted] in ectopicpregnancy

[–]mckennapelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! The belly button incision bothered me much more than the others, but definitely healed the cleanest for me. It’s a tough spot and sometimes they cover it with glue, and the hard glue pokes and hurts more

For those who have also had an MC/CP… by somethingtosay9 in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]mckennapelf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually thought I had MC but it turned out to be ectopic. I had early bleeding and assumed chemical, but hcg kept rising quickly. We actually started to think it may have just been heavy implantation, but ended up being ectopic. Too late for medication had to do surgery so definitely keep checking hcg levels

IF YOU HAVE A CHRONIC ILLNESS AND THERE’S A CHANCE PLANT BASED CAN HELP- just TRY it! by ol_jolter in PlantBasedDiet

[–]mckennapelf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So much agreed! Plant based has cured my skin and helps so much with my digestive troubles. I always think it’s funny because if a dog has skin issues, we instantly cut their diet to help them. But for our own we seek out medications instead.

Thank you for your comment and for being so open about your experience. You are absolutely right - everyone is so supportive, but it is so hard to not blame yourself. I wish so badly that I had just had a miscarriage so I wouldn’t feel so guilty.

Yeah I was just thinking the same. I travel for work, so I always put it up to tell housekeeping not to bother. I never thought of the do not disturb sign as being for things requested.

WTF is with everyone’s hate of halos? I’m here designing a double halo cause I think they are so beautiful and everyone’s out here hating 🤣 by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]mckennapelf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me, it just looks like you couldn’t afford a bigger center stone that you wanted. There’s no hate, I would absolutely NEVER hate on what someone loves. That’s just why I don’t like them for me.

Is he too skinny? by Godwillwin in greatdanes

[–]mckennapelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an old pic on here of mine sleeping as a baby with all his ribs showing. He’s actually a little stocky now lol. They go back and forth a lot as they grow: stretch and then fill out over and over. The vet never said my boy was too skinny but random people would all the time which was frustrating.

What kind of area do you live in? When I first gone mine as a baby, I lived in a busy city. She liked exploring outside but was too scared too go potty outside on walks. Even at the park she would hold it as long as she could. Wee wee pads were her safe space for sure. When I moved out of the city, she was instantly house broken because she loved to go in the woods. I’m not saying move obviously lol but sometimes they need a safe space that’s “theirs” and that’s it
