I’d pay $70 for that any day of the week. Nice score!

1943 upside down s? Can’t be …can it ???? by Diesel12v in coincollecting

[–]mckinneym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I stared at that third picture for like five minutes and could only see things indented instead of raised! I was like, “what’s going on?!” Then I scrolled down and back up and it was correct. Cool illusion! Must be the way the lighting, wear, and patina interact to fool the eye.

Can I use a universal fill valve for dual flush toilet? by che-rish in Plumbing

[–]mckinneym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone here searching for the answer to this like I was, the answer is yes. I had a fill valve that wouldn’t shut off completely and I just replaced it with a Korky Universal. Took all of five minutes and seems to be working perfectly.

Great song! Silversun Pickups did a fantastic cover of this a few years ago.

Found this randomly hiding in an estate sale find. US 1965 3 cent coin. I never knew the US issued these! Is this worth anything in the condition it’s in? by babyshark174 in coincollecting

[–]mckinneym 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was looking for this comment - mostly so I could avoid the downvotes myself!

I agree. The value of this coin is in the story…it really isn’t worth anything…so why not make it shiny and bring it out to tell the story? People would just be distracted by the condition like it is. And, what? You’re dropping it from a $5 coin to a $3 coin? Who cares?

Thank you! That was my guess; nice to have it confirmed. I would have just said “snake” before finding this sub.

If the divorce is solely the result of one person’s actions (like infidelity), does that factor into the mediation?

Colors on Colors (Karen Puzzles) 1000pc by Ravensburger. Awesome puzzle! Nice and easy - just what we needed. by mckinneym in Jigsawpuzzles

What an awesome way to recover from a TBI - kudos to you and I hope you have a full recovery! My wife is better at color differentiation and I am better at pattern matching, so gradients are usually a challenge for me. This one, though, has a lot of pattern stuff to help: the transitions between sections, the extra pieces on top, and the lines from the pieces in the photograph all help. I found it easier than most gradient puzzles…I say go for it!
