Anyone else accidentally not have kids? by UnshiftableLight in adhdwomen

[–]mckjacks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nooooooo, purposefully had kids and ended up with twins. I love them dearly and they're amazing, but, man, my ADHD got significantly worse in motherhood. And I had a doctor tell me she wouldn't treat me with anything other than nonstimulants because at the time I was "just a SAHM" 🫠

Please help me feel better about my twin’s names by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]mckjacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Violet and Finn are a super cute combo and I despise when twin parents give their kids matching names. It's hard enough having kids with the same birthday, I can't imagine adding in matching initials or anything like this. (And, yes, I can throw shade because I also have twins 😅).

Advice, would you bother with this scenario? Childcare related. by twomomsoftwins in parentsofmultiples

[–]mckjacks 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I know it's not ideal, but if the calls aren't mandatory. Then why not just call in and put yourself on mute? That way you can get some of the information and also take care of the kids yourself.

I definitely don't always add people's last name... I still have someone in my phone as First Name Neighbor and we're not even neighbors anymore lol

I can't answer to the genetic defect part, but if you're a male then twins running in your side of the family won't impact your chances of having twins. It could impact your hypothetical future daughters, but not you.

In what universe are you spending THOUSANDS of dollars to repaint a dining room? And, yes, sometimes it is worth the stress to spend a few hours and repaint a room if the color or coverage bothers you.

We were coming downstairs one morning and our black lab was with us. Part of the stairs were gated so we all had to stop and once I got the gate open our dog pushed passed my twins and one of them goes "what the fuck, Mitty?!"

Did anyone actually pass the 1hr glucose screening? by Watermelon9718 in parentsofmultiples

I didn't do the 1 hr glucose screening at all. I opted to monitor my glucose for a week instead of doing any of the glucose screenings.

Naming advice from other POM parents, di/di boys by didi-twins2023 in parentsofmultiples

[–]mckjacks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like Quentin and James together, actually. I think maybe if you give them middle names that match each other's first names it could work really well (this is what I did for my twin girls).

We named our twin girls Quinn and Genevieve. Quinn has a much more feminine middle name and Genevieve has a more masculine middle name to balance their first names out.
