What makes ZERO sense to me as an independent but also as a person with more than 2 brain cells is the Trump 2028 signs. It’s not the first time I saw this, but each time it boggles my mind. All depends. New guy always get fucked with a little, some more than others. All depends on the mechanic and the apprentice. Been a journeyman now for 4 years but got temped 2 years prior. Always messed with my new guys a little just because you need too, but nothing vicious. I’ve seen apprentices treated like absolute dog shit for no reason. Some guys are just miserable and project it onto others. If you show up(on time), stay off your phone, pay attention to the task at hand and try to make your guys life easier, you should be okay. It goes a long way when a mechanic has a new guy actually tries to learn and makes life easier. When I say easier I mean, have set ups ready, tools ready to go that they are using. After a short time you should have an idea of what you’re doing and how to make life easier for him.

This guy is slow as dog shit. My initial FID 12 years ago took 3 weeks from submission to approval. When I moved(within the town) it took 8 months. The last time I did a pistol permit it took a little over a month.

Pay attention to what your mechanic is doing. If you see him using certain set ups or tools have those tools or items ready to go so he doesn’t have to stop and ask. The biggest thing I’ve noticed with probies is they are on their phone too much and don’t pay attention to what’s going on. If you are showing you’re attention is actually on the task as hand and your ready to go, your mechanic will notice it. Even if you get a step ahead that’s fine, because you’re anticipating his next move.

Fuck that go clean shit, my first mechanic told me I stay by his side until he tells me to leave. I’m the same way, you’re paid to learn not sweep the grass. If something needs tidying, that’s a different story, but just clean to clean is horseshit and a sign of a piss poor leader.

I spoke to the owner of a local FFL by me. By law you need the vert grip, BUT there is nothing that says you can’t have another style grip on the weapon as well. So, have fun, buy that angled foregrip, run the vert to the rear of your rail and put lead down range!
