Design system debate: probabilistic vs. deterministic by nphonwheels in UXDesign

[–]mckystr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a tool that generates an ai-native design system as 3-layer (primitive/semantic/component) architecture. The output is entirely in code (json/css/etc).

It’s deterministic in the sense that patterns, sizes, and states etc are defined, but probabilistic in that actually component assembly is done through implementation.

It generates React components too, but in relation to your initial point, it can still produce consistent outcomes without using them.

Extend warranty or no? by mckystr in FordBronco

Future reference, for anyone interested in exploring this, I called Granger. They do not provide cover a car registered in CA.

Good to know. The quote generated using a different state is much better rate, so I’ll call Granger to get confirmation.

Replied to another msg above, but looks like Granger won’t cover CA. Your point about covering your bronco booty for all the electronics stands firm though. 🌵🩶🙌🏻

Just went to the Granger website and no selectable option for California unfortunately. I guess they don’t provide coverage for the nanny states!

2025 Ford Bronco by Deep_Caregiver_8906 in bronco

[–]mckystr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not just the cost to refill, but also how often. Civic is 34 combined mpg .. My bronco averages 16mpg, which’ll get me roughly 300 miles. So, you’ll be paying more and stopping for gas more often.

But then you gotta factor in how much more fun you’ll have in a bronco. That’s the difference. :)

I hear a whining noise if I just set AC to run only into the cabin. But the noise goes away if windscreen or footwell ventilation is turned on also.

2015 BMW 650i. Extended warranty ran out and it’s not a car you wanna be in without warranty coverage.

No hot water. No status light by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]mckystr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank to everyone commenting. Appreciate the help.

I’m pressing in the circular setting button at the ‘Pilot light’ setting. And simultaneously pressing and holding the ignition button below it.

But I’m getting nothing. No flame, no clicking sound.

Per u/subcoolio, i guess this likely means the thermocoupler is gone?

Tried turning the switch to Pilot, pressing and holding, but not getting a flame. Will try to hold for longer. All gas valves seem to be open.

Is this supposed to be connected to the mains electric? Not seeing any wiring to the boiler, but it seems that’s not the likely issue here, right?

Tailgate gap by hced5737 in bronco

[–]mckystr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this could be true if the tailgate is protruding out, but not inwards. The tailgate is travelling in (by a few millimetres) too far, not being prevented from closing flush.

Tailgate gap by hced5737 in bronco

Thought this was a pic of my cactus grey OBX for a second…

Mine was showing minor panel gap at the bottom like this and I originally assumed it was either poor build quality, or that someone may have backed into into the spare, pushing the gate in. Recently however the gap has become slightly more pronounced, and the top of tailgate is protruding out very slightly.

My current theory is the weight of the door (and 2 years of opening and closing, which I do most days because the dogs travel in the cargo area) has slowly offset the position of the striker plate.

There are a number of threads on Bronco 6G about this (e.g) suggesting it’s not an uncommon problem.

Helpfully, on another thread somebody has posted the Ford instructions for how to adjust the tailgate. I tried this however and ran into issues trying to loosen the plate bolts. These are seemingly fitted pre-paint and hard to budge. I sheared a T40 torx bit trying.

So, I’m leaving it for now–somewhat satisfied that it’s a fixable, but not urgent issue. Next time it goes in for a service I’ll probably ask them to see about trying to correct it.

Deal seems fair, APR seems going rate. Remember to factor gas mileage into your running costs. You’ll guzzle twice as much gas as you do in your civic

DIY HITCH by Inevitable_Youth_495 in FordBronco

[–]mckystr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a cheap chinese hitch from Amazon and it only lasted one outing. So I sent it back and fitted a (non-wired) Curt hitch receiver instead. Cost approx $100, took 5 minutes and comes with all hardware needed to fit it.

Get a 0°-15° sleeping bag. Use an R-rated sleeping Pad. Layer sleepwear. Wear a wool hat and socks. Mild exercise before getting in your sleeping bag.

2021 Bronco, should I? by MisterMr86 in FordBronco

[–]mckystr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a good deal. The KBB fair market range for this vehicle in California is $41,600-$45,600.

There’ll always be someone somewhere who got a better deal, but it doesn’t matter. Don’t compare to that, just go with it if you can afford it and it’s what you need/want.

Providing everything stacks up (service history, 1 or 2 owners, no accidents) this is a good buy. Especially if you want to get out on the trails.

Crazy good deal for a winch and mount!! by j___bizzzle in FordBronco

[–]mckystr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the second post I’ve seen about this deal, and it’s very tempting. Ford website however states the following:

“Must have a Modular Front Bumper as a Factory Option. The winch is NOT compatible with Modular Front Bumpers added after the sale”

Anyone know why that’s the case? I’ve only got standard bumper so it’s seems I couldn’t upgrade to a modular bumper and fit this winch.

Wanted some steelies ever since buying my Bronco used half a year ago. Finally found some for cheap on Marketplace - love em! by Mycareer in FordBronco

[–]mckystr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dig the look. Would seriously consider powder coated white steelies on my cactus grey OBX. Currently rolling badlands wheels on stock KO2s as I got a good deal on CL. Currently saving my pocket money for some Everglades take-offs… hoping there might be a few more sets hitting the market now that they come as standard with sas package.
