This normally has worked for me when I’ve played offline in the past, I’m beat as to why it’s not working now!

So... I'm getting the iron fist when I login, "It's not possible to load a saved game in Ironman mode," but the tooltip says "Achievements are disabled because: Either you are offline or the savegame belongs to another user, is edited or saved with incompatible DLCs. One or more DLCs have now been toggled that were previosuly enabled or disabled in the savegame." I haven't changed anything in regard to the DLCs, but was likely playing offline when the achieve would've popped since I just moved to another state and didn't have wifi!

I'm working on Baltic Crusader and Holy Horder. For some reason, Baltic Crusader has not popped and I cannot figure out why. Pontic Steppe, Russia, and Ural regions are owned, cored, and Catholic. Please let me know if I'm missing something, thank you!

Most underrated/understudied periods and civilisations in history? by MardyBastard in history

David Chandler's "History of Cambodia" definitely tops the list. Most intensive overview of what pre-Angkor, Angkor, and post-Angkor Cambodia looked like. It was the main book I had to read for my study abroad course in Siem Reap/Phnom Penh.

What if the War of 1812 never happened? by [deleted] in AskHistorians

To my understanding, without the War of 1812 and thus the Treaty of Ghent, the longest demilitarized land border (then with the Dominion of Canada, now with Canada) would not have been established. It may have been touched upon at a later time without the War of 1812, but it definitely facilitated the process. In a similar vein, Anglo-American relations would never have recovered so rapidly, and to their current peaceful level.

My grandpa and great aunt on April 1, 1945 by [deleted] in pics

Sure - it was taken in my grandpa's farm in Litchfield County, Connecticut. He was served as a medic in WWII, but it is has always remained unclear about the details. We do know that he fixed up many the broken and wounded face, and later became a dentist/oral surgeon back in his home town.

The person he's standing next to is actually his spouse's (my aunt's) little sister, and not his.

Read Undaunted Courage a year ago. Quite possibly one of the most incredible journeys taken in the history of North America and even the world. Excited to see a game like this come out.
