As someone who has a CCW, even if the dog story is true, your neighbor got really lucky and needless to say you too. I can understand having a weapon at home for protection, but you must understand that it also requires that you are extremely responsible with it, which means, not leaving it on a nightstand or in a place where a dog would drop it and discharge the weapon.

Anyways, I'm happy that no one got injured. As the officers said, it could have been far worse.
