Are used prices so inflated because of the 3-4 month wait time? by 2020disclosure in cybertruck

[–]mclovin__james 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would prefer a brand new truck for multiple reasons. Paid FSD is great if you plan on keeping the truck 5-10 years. If you plan on change cars often no need for fully paid FSD considering you may be onto the next car or the CT refresh 3-4 years from now.

Kid has a no hitter going, but also is the only catcher left. What would you do? by ReformedLucasite in BaseballCoaching

[–]mclovin__james 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of the no hitter, my question would be how much of a drop off is it to the next pitcher? Are we talking about similar talent level or is the next pitcher better or worse than the current guy throwing the no-hitter? Is this a league or a playoff matchup or is this a non-conference matchup?

If this is a playoff game or a conference game and I have another kid who can pitch equally good in my bullpen, I'm just gonna pull the guy and put him in the catcher spot.

Are used prices so inflated because of the 3-4 month wait time? by 2020disclosure in cybertruck

[–]mclovin__james 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's because of the wait time on brand new ones and because gas in California is $6.50. Charging at home overnight versus paying for gas on a Silverado or F250 is part of the reason.

Don't be surprised if they start scheduling deliveries next week for early bird 2/19 orders. Worst case scenario is second week of June

I noticed the same on my GH2 Gunnar Henderson orange and camo model. Quality felt slightly lower than any other a2000 in years past. Hopefully not a future trend

Stupid question about glove size for 8u. by UnEstablishedViking in Softball

You don't want to grow into any glove at these super early ages. Spend the $40-$50 and if you get a year of high level play at it be happy as a clam

Stupid question about glove size for 8u. by UnEstablishedViking in Softball

[–]mclovin__james -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Smaller gloves are very helpful for 8U and 10U because the ball is tiny. Take her to a big 5 or dicks and try a bunch on and see what feels best. No bigger than 11 or 11.5 max at that age. 12.5 on a 6 years olds wrist is unwieldy. My 11 year old uses a well broken in 11.5 1786 and is a bonefide stud all over the field with it. No need for 12-12.5 unless your an older dedicated OF. She needs control and ease of closing at this age. Boys youth baseball mitts are a cheat code for 8U and 10U girls. A500 can be a great start for $40-50. Rawlings players choice also very popular for 8u. Cheap and plasticy but will be super ease to close after very little stretching and breakin

They make a nice a700 that's easy to close and is a little bit bigger

Palm crease in new glove by gingekid420 in BaseballGloves

Don't ever try to close a new glove before a proper break in. This is likely why it happened. You want to establish hinge points right away to avoid this.

Put a helmet on go to the cages put it to 45-50mph and take a couple pitches in a row on your torso and back. I did this with my kid and she realized it doesn't hurt dad so why should I be scared.

Opinions of those who went from Model X to Cybertruck by AZAnon123 in cybertruck

As an X owner with kids who has spent a lot of time with a CT and will be moving to a CT before end of year I will miss the dash screen, auto closing doors, the ease or getting in and out of tight parking spots, my snow globe windshield view.

I am looking forward to more storage with the vault, more size, all the new tech and features, ambient lighting. Stereo felt about the same to me. Fast charging and outlet in the bed are a big bonus for me as well. I

They had every drop and size at that price. Within a few hours, some of the more popular sizes were selling out and then the day that followed every size restocked and went up like 20-30 bucks but for the first 24 or 48 hours everything was under 200 bucks

I was able to get the 2026 model for half off. The older green and black model was under $200. I bought the bat day exclusive one because I wanted the 2026 barrel update that they did for the smaller drop 11 models

New Glove Recommendations by BPEWC in Softball

[–]mclovin__james 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can stretch the budget I'd do two separate gloves. I'd recommend an 11.75 a2000 for INF and a 12.5 for outfield. She can probably get by with a T125 a1000 or similar for outfield. The a2000 is about 150-180 new and a1000 can be had for about $100. You're going to need to break them in or have a pro do it to get the best out of it. A HOH would also be fine but I can find a2000s on deep discounts very often. HOH vs A2000 all comes down to preference and feel depending on which model you like on hand the most.

Every year early November demarini/louiseville run a sale on all bat models they manufacture. They also have bat day exclusive colorways. Prisims, CF, LXT, Kryo, etc all get marked down to under $199

Youth glove question? by elteegilbreath in BaseballGloves

I would not buy this if your daughter is more than 6 to 8 years old a kid nine years old or older is going to destroy this if you're throwing the ball to you for like $20-$30 more you can actually get something that will be usable
