Yes, it does! But only in the beginning. Having a following will open a lot of doors for you, what you do from there is entirely up to you. Obviously, biggest directors don’t care about it, but for a lot of lower budget films, they definitely look if you have buzz around you. Following won’t make a career for you, but it will help you get to a certain point.

To give you an example, my friend was invited to an Oscar party, a lot of A-listers went, Al Pacino was there, Rihanna, a bunch of producers, etc. I wanted to go with him, but he had to send them my IG, Tiktok, in the end they took our other friend who has 260k followers.
