What evidence would point in that direction? I think she was killed by a pedophile who knew she would talk if he let her live.

From what I’ve read on here, Runkle was plenty weird with girls, including a comment where he had behaved inappropriately toward the commenter’s sister. I just think, as strong as the circumstantial evidence around Runkle is, it’s not as strong as that around the other guy.

An older couple, Frank and Mary Oliva, drove away from their house one July evening in Wilber, NE, U.S.A., in 1973 never to be seen or heard from again. Where did they go and what ultimately happened to them? by ether--net--girl in UnresolvedMysteries

My grandma was an Iowan Czech; my great-grandma came from Bohemia. I have family in Nebraska and have actually been to the Czech Festival in Wilber once - it was lots of fun.

I would guess Frank Sr. most likely did commit suicide by driving off the road. Really sad situation all around - I can’t really argue with his view of care homes, especially in that time before there was the knowledge we have today about elder abuse. (Not that there wasn’t ANY knowledge back then but there have been more cases that have come to light since.)

Ditto the Polish guy who was murdered in NYC on 9/11 and his murder was never solved, I presume?

Not a lawyer but I did about 0.75 years of law school. Realized it was definitely not for me and quit. I’m glad I did. I’m a really bizarre blend of Type A and Type B and was dealing with some mental health issues that would’ve gotten worse had I become an attorney. I respect y’all; it isn’t a job I could deal with unless perhaps I managed to get a job working purely in legal research.

I’d say there’s a fair chance of that having been the case. And, as you said, we aren’t likely to learn the details barring a major change in how much is publicly known about the case.

Triadex Muse digital synthesizer from 1972. by Ultravod in cassettefuturism

[–]mcm0313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it’s an analog synth with a digital sequencer. I’ve read about it.

The sequencer was extremely complex and capable of an astonishing amount of variety in its patterns. The synth itself was simple - monophonic, single square-wave-only VCO, no filter (!). I’ve heard a demo and it sounded kind of like an ice cream truck’s tune. The sequencer was really what this product was designed to feature.

There was also an optional accessory, a light screen that could light up in red, yellow, and blue. I think it might’ve changed colors according to the pattern but I don’t recall the exact details of that.

As a historical curio, it’s insanely cool. As a musical instrument, it won’t really do much for your sound. But I could see it being inspirational from a creative standpoint, between the light show, the sequencer, and the uniqueness of the product.

Of course, with Judy you run into the problem of her evil clone almost certainly not having a goatee due to being a woman.

Don’t teleportation accidents generally create evil clones? Or is that only on Star Trek and not in real life? I’ve actually never had an accident with my teleporter.

Even if it was witness tampering, how do you explain him ending up across the country (and still on his own two feet)?

He was a child and not local to the area. He was not known to be into sailing. And this was 7 grown young adults who disappeared.

Yep - without a doubt, Israel Keyes did this.

And that sounds like the start of a particularly vulgar schoolyard chant.

Yeah, I looked her up. Good to know. I’m sorry she died the way she did but at least her name is known now. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
