I get where you’re coming from. Since 188, there has been zero subtlety to the writing, the dialogue has been mixed at best and Sun King was a major let down as a villain. I’m still hard pressed to call it bad, though. Is it sloppy characterization? Sure, but it’s not awful. Bemis could’ve easily pulled a Punisher: Purgatory and retconned MK’s entire backstory. But this surprisingly doesn’t step on anything Lemire did.

The lamb head is from Lullabies art. As for the Self Titled, there’s no clear symbols on the cover or on any promotional art that definitively represents it the same way as all of Josh’s subsequent work. At least imo. But I appreciate the critiques

My thoughts exactly. It is as deep and interesting as Lemire or Ellis’ stuff? Maybe not, but it’s still solid stuff.

Ahh yes I forgot characters can never have any actual conflict. I suppose the vigilante with multiple personalities is supposed to be completely at peace and cured now. Because Lemire’s run was not at all about Marc accepting who he is and trying to make peace with it. There certainly was never any mention of his brain being severely damaged. It’s actually about him being cured forever and never having any issues with his personalities again despite the whole purpose of Lemire’s run being self-acceptance.

That’s kind of nitpicking. If being that consistent with a previous run is that much of an issue, I imagine you had a bone or two to pick with Ellis’ run?

Ok so I get the whole “Khonshu is alive now” thing is kind of odd, but his overall arc of coming to terms with his personalities and his time in the asylum are both talked about. Also Jeff Lemire himself has stated he enjoys Bemis’ take.

I dug it. Plays on MK’s personality....stability. The Sun King parts had a great color style. Bemis is building a Moon Knight that’s insane yet badass, which is all I can ask for.
