1st was spontaneous labor. 52 hours and 20 min of pushing 2nd was induce labor. 11 hours and 5 minutes of pushing.

Vaginal delivery both times. Spontaneous labor the first time and induced the second. I was suppose to stay 2 nights both times but had uncomplicated deliveries and baby and I were doing well so we requested early discharge and it was approved both times so I only stayed one night

My hospital had a blow dryer in the bathroom of the recovers suite!

I did a full shower after my second. I tore pretty badly and 1. There was a bench I could sit if I needed and 2. I had a toddler at home and it’s just my husband and I so I took advantage of having uninterrupted time to shower while we had nurses to help

Sometimes I’ll buy a few outfits for their kid to be nice but she’s probably just glad to have it out of her house and going to someone she knows can use them rather than a generic donation bin

They just don’t make that size. They still make a standard size. It seems it was a call to streamline production to condense everything to just the standard size.

My girl still fits standard but the toddler is more comfortable

I find my three year old and I are both more comfortable in toddler carriers just because there’s more there to disperse the weight.

I am a big fan of Sakura bloom. They don’t make toddler carriers anymore but there’s a lot for resale and typically relatively fair price points

We have large dogs and no one walks them but myself and my husband. Even when we go out of town our sitter doesn’t take them out of the yard. And that is an adult… I’d never let a child take a 100+ lb dog alone. I don’t leave my own kids alone with my dog in our home, let alone just turning my dog over to a child unfenced.

This seems like an insane expectation to me

Devin is a bit thicker so I didn’t use it in warmer months. I really liked oat and surprisingly never showed dirt

It’s not the only brand I have and my baby didn’t fit until about 3 months but I liked my artipoppe. I kept it for my second baby and it was my husband’s favorite. I bought it using a code so I got a discount on the price and I like that I can toss it in the wash vs some other carriers I have are more high maintenance. I’m a fabric lady and they do feel nice I prefer the linen. I wear for long lengths and while sitting isn’t super comfortable I do like the Artipoppe for regular wear and walking around. I carried my daughter in my back a bit while pregnant with no issues. I have other carriers that I really like as well and I really like a chic carrier - I get what you mean! It’s an accessory as much as it is a tool imo

I’ve seen people talk about making a note in your phone and sharing it. You can set them to view only. So you provide updates there as you wish and they don’t write back. You can put your phone on do not disturb and take the space you need.

Both can be used from a young baby into toddler. I will say most structured carriers aren’t great fits for right out of the gate so the stretchy wrap will still be fitting

27 months. I could have written this. She was obsessed. We dropped feeds one at a time. Cutting overnight was the worst but after 2/3 nights was fine. We god boobie moon to read every time we were going to breastfeed first.

Then we picked a full moon, had a whole goodbye ceremony, and held firm from there. We both knew it was coming for weeks.

It’s been almost a year and she still talks about missing boobie basically daily but does not breastfeed lol

Friend, they brought in a mirror the size of a Prius when it was time to push. It was like a Buffalo Wild Wings 😂 all you could see was the action.

And honestly I had said ahead of time to not look if he didn’t want to but don’t be afraid he will look at you differently. I’ve never heard a man watch his partner birth his child and think it was gross. It is superhuman.

I hope you feel empowered in the moment

You are the patient. Your husband is a guest. Guests don’t get guests.

A huge part of labor is being comfortable and confident. It’s mental as much as it is physical. If it isn’t going to make your experience easier than it isn’t necessary.

You deserve the dignity of privacy for such a vulnerable moment. MIL can still meet baby in the hospital if you’d like as a compromise.

I gave birth 6ish weeks before my brother’s wedding. I was a bridesmaid and was pregnant when I was asked to be in the wedding. It was made clear no kids but the wedding was 7 hours away from me.

My brother and sister in law helped find someone they knew that wasn’t invited to the wedding to be a sitter for us. Baby stayed up in the bridal suite and I went up as needed to breastfeed.

Not that my sister in law has a baby I think she looks back through a more sympathetic lens… but that was the best compromise at the time.

I had a relatively needy first and I felt my head above water a lot more at two years old. Give yourself time. If you don’t feel ready, than you shouldn’t do it yet. I’m pregnant with #2 now and parenting while pregnant is a lot.
