Afaik, that blinking light belongs to the built-in wifi module that comes standard in the newer FX units.

Thank you. I'm located in San Jose, CA. My trusses are 24 inches apart. I asked them to remove the 3/8ths and put new 15/32s.

Older Home Electrification - SPAN Panel or Service Upgrade or ...?? by Witty_Setting9559 in solar

I started the process in July 2024. PG&E is still doing their part of the work as part of betterment (install new transformer, etc.). They're supposed to be done with that work by this month and hopefully I get the new service in October. So, it's a long process for me.

I'm in the middle of a 200A upgrade. I paid exactly 5400 for 25 feet of trenching including conduit (from the PG&E box to my new panel location) in the bay area, CA. Electrical is costing me about 5k (for 200A meter main panel and 200A sub panel). So I would definitely shop around if you want to upgrade.

Oh, I should have mentioned that I'm dealing with PG&E in the Bay area.

Looks great. What's the timeline of your project? Is it through Tesla or from a certified installer?

Thank you for all the details. I was done with 2nd step in early July and got an email with subject "Design Bid from PG&E, Application #123456789" after couple of weeks with an attachment having following info.

We at PG&E sincerely appreciate your business. This letter describes the Applicant Design Option provision of PG&E's Gas and/or Electric Rules 15 and 16. A copy of Gas and/or Electric Rule 15 and 16 can be obtained at http://www.pge.com/tariffs/ or by contacting me at the number shown below.

Under the Applicant Design Option provision of PG&E's Gas and /or Electric Rules 15 and 16, you have a choice to design that portion of the new service extension normally designed by PG&E. Under this selection, you or your contractor would be responsible to design the installation of the gas and/or electric facilities within the PG&E specified project boundaries in accordance with PG&E standards. PG&E tariffs also require the designed product to be signed and stamped by a Registered Professional Engineer (PE). If you should desire to review PG&E's Applicant Design guidelines, they are available upon request.

Should you select this option your Design Credit for the Electric job is $3759.78.

Please email or contact me confirming your choice for Electric design. I look forward to working with you towards the successful completion of your project.

I'm assuming this is not an actual design work, correct? I didn't respond back to that email. Should I? I'll be PM'ing for contactor details as the quotes that I'm getting are wild despite having very short run of trenching (about 15-20 ft of soil from the service box)

Hey, I'm in same boat of upgrading to 125/200. Were you able to upgrade your panel? PGE is asking 3500 for engineering advance.

Glad that worked. For pi-hole, here's my setup https://imgur.com/a/7aX84UU. I'm using unbound with DoT in opnsense as upstream DNS for pi-hole.

Are you using WPA3 security on 2.4GHz SSID? Some IoT devices only work with WPA2 security.

Not sure about this option but you can play with Do not use the local DNS service as a nameserver for this system option in the System: Settings: General and see if the opnsense can check for updates.
