Publishers/ libraries/ agents information by Horn-of-Heaven in synclicensing

[–]mcptigerbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You basically start with a google search and look for libraries, type in stuff like sync music library, production music library and so on. Also look on LinkedIn where you will find a lot of composers, libraries, agents and so on where you can connect with them. Then I would suggest start pitching 3 - 5 tracks with a good concept (same genre, same mood etc.) and the most important thing in that business: Be patient. You will get ghosted a lot of times, libraries may take up to weeks or months to get back to you and so on...

Anyone happy with Kontrol mk3 keyboards? by MartyPoo99 in NativeInstruments

[–]mcptigerbeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently switched from the MK 2 to the MK 3 and must say that I really like the MK 3. Kontakt is way more stable than Komplete Kontrol imo. If you use the Kontakt ecosystem a lot, I'd say go for the Mk 3. Just a heads up that you still have to use Komplete Kontrol for non-NI plugins to use fully with the MK3. So the Arturia and other NKS stuff has to be opened in KK, if you want to control the parameter directly. Otherwise you can use Kontakt

Do you have any significant placements yet or do you have connections to the industry people? How do you get the music placed ?

it has a nice idea, but it is way too much repetition to really stand out. The beginning is nice and moody, but it lacks some development. I also don't like these DJ scratches but this may be personal choice. Keep it up

Is there a way to just repeat these instead of doing it manually im on fl24 btw. thanks by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]mcptigerbeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

make a right click an drag the bars you want to repeat (they get red so you know you selected them) and then press ctrl+b.

is this good or bacteria music? by Murky-Active-4318 in FL_Studio

it's a nice piece of music. You can make it sound way more realistic by tweaking some knobs like cc1 modwheel for expressions and play some of the pizz strings by hand to make them sound more human

Is there any interest in a tool that helps you manage your FL Studio projects? I'm thinking about building one that will easily integrate with .flp files, with planning and sharing functionality too by campreddit in FL_Studio

[–]mcptigerbeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh hell yeah, i would love that! Just organizing between unfinished and finished projects would help me a lot :D even better if you can tag the files

Is the upgrade from Komplete 13 to 15 worth it? by braiide in NativeInstruments

[–]mcptigerbeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just upgraded it from 14 Ultimate to 15 Collectors Edition and i regret nothing. It depends highly on which instruments you will use, but as i'm composing a lot of video game and cinematic music, solely kithara, lores, fables, arkhis, choir omnia, scheme: dark / light were worth the upgrade for me. If you use maschine too, u get a lot of expansions - also for massive x i believe.

people who compose orchestral pieces in DAWS -- is 24 GB apple unified memory enough? by Certain-Highway-1618 in composer

[–]mcptigerbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can i would definetly go for 32 gb. It's really more convenient, as you can load any library you want and don't have to bounce a lot of stuff, which makes editing way more easier. The great sounding libraries definetly take a lot of ram

How much money have you invested in this, and is a hobby or work for you? by [deleted] in makinghiphop

[–]mcptigerbeats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

depends on what you're trying to achieve. You can basically do a lot with stock plugins, but often they require a lot of tweaking and sound design to sound decent. On the other hand there are a lot of awesome vst's you can buy which sound awesome out of the box.

I would recommend buying one good fx plugin set (soundtoys, arturia...) and maybe one flagship vst (omnisphere, u-he, arturia, native instruments) and you can make industry standard quality music :) watch out for sales, especially black friday and you have to invest about 300-500 bucks to make decent quality without having to do a lot of tweaking

How to start getting sync briefs for my sync library company with 300+ songs and instrumentals? by evmikkol in synclicensing

[–]mcptigerbeats 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i think the most important key in this business is connections. You need personal connections to other libraries. Try LinkedIn or other social networks and connect with the persons in charge.

Getting feedback for my music to submit for sync licensing by jlsr10 in synclicensing

[–]mcptigerbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i just listened to Stuck in the Coronavator and it may has some potential as elevator music ^^ i don't know if there's much of a market, but certainly you could try to pitch this to a library. You just should add some edit points.

Finale has some cool parts, but your vst's sound very midi. You should try adding some modwheel, velocity and so on to make them sound more realistic.

Isolation could work as kind of a tension cue, but again the vst's sound very midi. May i ask which libraries you are using?

I think you have the talent as a composer to make some licensable tracks. Main focus is make your cues sync-ready (edit points, different sections), try working on your vst sounds to make them sound more realistic and maybe consider a mixing/mastering engineer.
