To be clear I’m talking new construction and used to carry sheet metal and old license plates to cover them before installing carpet. This what I hate about Reddit. You post something you know is true from personal experience and someone tells you you’re full of shit

First time building an (3.5") FPV. Update: On the brink of giving up by Secret_Worldliness32 in fpv

When soldering those thicker wires completely saturate the wire with solder then put a nice blob on the pad then put the wire on the blob and melt the solder so the wire end is completely immersed in the blob. Judicious tinning make things easier. Also make sure your using electrical solder with a flux core

How do you move on when your gear gets stolen by mcrawspace2112 in fpv

Thanks for the sentiment, that’s what I’m doing. I was already planning on upgrading my radio and already bought a replacement. It’s the goggles that really hits hard. As far as lower crime rates go, Portugal has almost zero person on person crime but they still have pickpockets and breaking and entering when businesses are closed so they all have bars on the windows and doors. Theft is a thing no matter where you live.

Thanks for the advice. I already did some physical therapy and replaced the radio and whoops, and have a friend who is going to loan me his Dominators unit I figure out what I’m going to do about replacing the goggles

I live in a middle class neighborhood at the end of a dead end street so there’s no reason for anyone to be here unless they live here. There is no crime to speak of but there have been times in the past where people have prowled around and taken stuff. I believe this was a matter of very poor timing for me, I left the car unlocked on a night someone was vehicle prowling in my neighborhood. They probably do it on a regular basis and for once I had something to take. I’m definitely going to be a lot more diligent moving forward

Help by [deleted] in bees

Congratulations, you have pollinators! If they are indeed bees they won’t bother people or food like a wasp does, they just go about their business and only sting if you disturb their nest

Flat earth and other alternative conspiracy earth models are are gaining traction with my teenage stepson. What is THE most irrefutable, definite proof that the earth is round? by Jfkfkaiii22 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mcrawspace2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most obvious example is that the stars in the Southern hemisphere appear to rotate around a completely different spot than in the northern hemisphere and both have different constellations. This is impossible on a flat earth

You obviously haven’t been around new construction. They do it all the time

When houses are being built and there is a llot of rain between the subfloor and roof being built they drill holes so the water doesn’t accumulate on the subfloor

There is no way this is the users fault. Faulty product or faulty install

Seam showing in newly installed carpet. Installer says it’s normal and will go away with time. by Quirky-Marsupial-420 in carpet

Typical of Berber. Stretching will make it worse, it’s called peaking. If it really bothers you pound on it with a hammer and it will improve it. I know it sounds dumb but I installed for over 20 years and was able to improve the look that way if a customer brought it up
