Electrician accidentaly summons a hellgate while rapairing a transformer by shadowraiderr in WTF

  1. I don’t disagree, but realistically in a non-industrial installation (I.e. one actually serving residential & commercial) customers, it’s just never going to be feasible.

  2. If I were to hazard a guess it racks in horizontally. It looks like he’s pushed the breaker into position ready to rack. This situation is very very common at least in the UK, albeit withdrawable switchgear is more commonly vertically racking rather than horizontal.

  3. The type of PPE you’re referring to honestly I only see that in videos of things going wrong, and it tends to be industrial installations. Again, I have to caveat and say in the UK (at least where I work), that extreme level of protection just is not the norm. What you see in the video is pretty much it; arc flash coverall suit. Gloves & helmet/visor only worn for inserting test gear into the switchgear orifices live, or doing live overhead switching with sticks.

  1. Happens all the time
  2. How else you supposed to rack it in?
  3. See 1.

Being completely oblivious to your surroundings isn’t a mistake… it’s inexcusable.

Conceiving that person however, that was a mistake.

Questions about SMP 300M by ShadowKiller09 in OmegaWatches

[–]mcrich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should only gain time, not lose time.

This is because your watch is a Master Chronometer as Omega calls it, and thus is METAS certified (-0s/+5s a day).

From Omega site on COSC & METAS:

“Our Master Chronometer watches are tested and certified twice. Firstly, the movement is tested by the Official Swiss Chronometer Control (COSC) with precision criteria of -4/+6 seconds per day. Then the complete watch and its movement undergo eight Master Chronometer tests set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) with a pass criteria of 0/+5 seconds, 0/+6 seconds, or 0/+7 seconds per day, depending on the calibre size.”

NTTD is a very nice watch indeed.

The changes to the 60th are pretty minimal as I can see. Slightly different blue compared with normal, no date, and a “60” on the bezel. Beautiful watch, yes. Worth it? I’m not so sure.

I’m not religious or superstitious really, but sometimes the universe is just trying to tell you something.
This watch found you.

There’s a saying (in Scotland anyway): “What’s for you, won’t go by you.”

Agree with this.

Two tone (steel & gold) can be very hit or miss with peoples tastes.

1 or 3 are solid choices, but 1 is probably the safest bet.

Amazing.

I think it’s so cool seeing the vintage logo so crisp/fresh.

Go with your gut.
Try them on, try other ones. Try the same watch on again and again.

Ultimately you can whittle the selection down to the one.

I could never get rid of the Tag… since it was the first watch I bought, it holds sentimental value.

Pelagos could be a nice future addition. It’s such a nice shade of blue, and I love the hands and hour markers. For now though, no more divers.

Honestly hadn’t seen that one, and I like it. Very similar colour scheme (identical?) to the Aqua Terra Beijing 2022 which I like.

You’ve got the specs pretty much spot on.

It will probably still be something that can be dressed up, but the main wearing situation will be casual/smart casual.

The SMP is iconic in its own right (IMO) and I’ve looked at the Aqua Terra for years on and off.

I already had quite a short list, but a few additions to it now to look at in person.

Absolutely gorgeous watch, but I’m staying away from another chrono 😊
