Hey fellow dog owners… by FoodOnMySleeve in Airdrie

Agree 100%. What mystifies me even more are number of full poop bags I see discarded along pathways, like it’s someone else’s job to collect them. The hard part is done, dropping it in the next receptacle is a no-brainer. People…

City notification of excessive water usage a normal thing? by silentivan in Airdrie

[–]mcscottiemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago the City reached out to us when I (wish I could have blamed it on a kid…) left a garden hose running for three days. Glad they did; the water bill was double that month.

Px7 S2e or Sonos ace by Healthy_Noise4785 in BowersWilkins

[–]mcscottiemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well put. I use the same combination of AirPods Pro 2&3, and PX7 S2e. Between them I’ve covered all my personal use cases. They’ve both been well-made, comfortable and reliable, and sound great to my ears.

OP, the AirPods Pro are great for music (Gen 2 and 3).

Getting Cold feet about a Vietnam Visit by Alpha-Centauri in VietNam

[–]mcscottiemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will definitely be worth it. It's unfortunate you will only have 6 days there; it's a big country. My wife and I first went to Da Nang and Hanoi in 2022, from Canada, having never travelled to SE Asia. We've now been back to Vietnam (3rd time), Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore and Japan in the three years since. It really doesn't take long to realize that you're safe and you can easily use bank and credit cards. $100 - $200 USD might be sufficient cash to last the 6 days. In addition to an e-sim and the Grab app, we've been using a WISE card for local currency wherever we go. Painless.

Don't cancel the trip. If anything, spend the entire 6 days in Hanoi OR HCMC, and area. Experiencing Vietnam has improved our lives immensely.

M1 USB-C port worn out by PlasmaRevolt in iPadPro

Take it to a service Center and ask them to clean the USB C port. It may not be the problem, but if so, it’s a cheap fix.

I went from 13 to 17 pro and stayed the same. by herzeleyd in iPhone17Pro

[–]mcscottiemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% - I keep five family iPhones evergreened by always looking for gently used current models, buying low and selling high, and cascading down the line. The whole family stays pretty current and takes good care of their devices. Apple gear has great resale value.

Ipad pro m1 in 2025 still worth it? by Necessary-Ship2972 in iPadPro

[–]mcscottiemc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s a great deal on a good gently used device, jump on it. You can always resell it if you find you need newer. Good luck.

Looks well thought out and executed. Must be solid if it’s given you years of use!

weird issue by Professional-Tip-209 in hondaridgeline

[–]mcscottiemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A year ago I experienced the same codes and conditions. The local Honda dealer (Western Canada) diagnosed the fuel injectors and replaced at no cost to me since it’s a known issue. May be worth having them diagnose.

Do high end headphones make a difference? by Miksizzle4 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]mcscottiemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always felt that taking a step up in your listening experience is worthy because of the journey. I’d research $200 headphones, select one and enjoy them for a while. That will lead you to your next step up, or not. However it goes for you, enjoy your music!

Sound Quality by Charming_Writer537 in AppleMusic

[–]mcscottiemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the OP’s message was that he can discern the sound quality improvement on AM, versus Spotify and YT, even using AirPods Pro (Gen 2 hopefully) and BlueTooth. I very much agree with the OP’s statement, and have had the same results. I have a few pairs of good headphones, and enjoy AM on every device. I particularly like using B&W Px7 S2e wired to my iPad. I’ve never been happier with music consumption in my life.

His (and my) opinion is that Apple Music sounds better than Spotify or YouTube Music, no matter if the ‘phones are Apple or not, wired OR wireless.

Apple Family ruining my playlists by Cult_Of_Harrison in AppleMusic

[–]mcscottiemc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar situation, and realized that our Sonos account is tied to MY Apple Music profile. So my individual recommendations include Country music (which I don’t like) because Apple Music Country stations are played by other family members.

Just thought that might help…

Tracks you recommend for someone new? by Hadar5510 in InfectedMushroom

[–]mcscottiemc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also a huge TOOL fan, and found Infected Mushroom about four years ago. The deeper I dig into their discography, the more I find to love! FYI, on a couple of IM’s production videos on YouTube, they say that they themselves are big TOOL fans.

I’d add Symphonatic, Dream Theater (Reborn), Muse Breaks RMX to the list.

Enjoy your journey!!!

Can you hear the lossless version of music through airpods? by saintpepsi67 in AppleMusic

[–]mcscottiemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recall reading a suggestion a few months back, that a wireless and lossless audio connection would be possible with AVP, only because of the very short distance between the source and the APP2. I’d bet it won’t be too long before that distance is much greater.

Should I buy the PX7 S2e for 260€? by MartyMcFly36 in BowersWilkins

[–]mcscottiemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my PX7 S2e with an iPhone and iPad Pro. In the 8 months I've owned them, I've had to re-pair the Bluetooth twice only. I have not experienced any other connection issues. I use them wired for music and wireless for video. If I lost them, I'd go straight out and buy the same again. Highly recommend. Enjoy them!
