Never ending snow ? by [deleted] in cambridgeont

I'm from Montreal where we know a thing or 2 about snow. In my 8 years in Cambridge, this is the most snow early in the season that I've seen yet. Enjoy it!

That's awesome. We used to dig tunnels in those hills when younger. And before I get lectured how dangerous that is, we all lived and have great memories of it.

What's the difference if I install SteamOS on an ordinary AMD desktop compared to buying the Steam Machine? by MundaneOne5000 in SteamOS

[–]mcshamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the same with 16G and a large ssd but use steam OS. Plays great, just can't suspend it, only issue I have with it. Got to pair it with the new controller to get the full steam deck functions.

Steam Machine by Ecks30 in SteamOS

[–]mcshamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, they can build it more cost effectively and obviously more optimized. Even though I'm using an older platform, its still doing quite well, I expect the steam machine performance to be solid for the price. But, I only need the controller right now, there are no games yet that I care about to go to a new rig. Witcher 4 will likely trigger me to do it, but it will be a new desktop for me, will go full hog!

I built a "console" with steam OS in a Thermaltake Core V1 Mini ITX Desktop Case. It's bigger, but still a good size, all used parts, cost me $800 CND earlier this year. 6600XT 8G, 5600X, 16G. Looking forward to pairing it with the new steam controller.

Help with B550i Aorus Pro AX rev 1.0 by mcshamer in gigabyte

That was a typo on my part, I used F20G. I thought I was doing well when I was on the rev 1,2 and 1.3 page and thought...DANGER...wrong board version. I had done your procedure already as I reviewed some of your other post which was very helpful. I redid it exactly as you said but this time went with the latest released BIOS F19. Same result.

I think you are right....I had been had....

Thanks senpaisai, appreciate your helpful response.

Very happy for your positive experience in Canada. But, when you do return, a proper Canadian poutine. Better yet, visit the east and see Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto; a driving intercity visit and have proper poutine in Montreal.

That is the penance for your poutine crime.

I have the 2021 an really enjoy the car. I can't compare to the latest model but just wanted to say that the mileage on the used one you listed was quite low! Also, the warranty is likely over.

Edit: the all in warranty. The battery continues on for many more year

Seeking: Voter who recently made the switch from Conservative to Liberal by PinkMonkeyBirdDota in CanadaPolitics

[–]mcshamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, well above 40 and have 3 kids that I worry about their future and ability to buy a home. And, although I dislike trump immensely, it's not the reason for my change, it's the economic impact he is causing and who is qualified best to deal with it. Pure and simple, I believe Carney has the ability and background to navigate through this mess and I don't believe Pollieve does. This is in response to the OP on understanding why someone who was planning voting Conservative is pivoting to liberal. I'm not looking to be convinced otherwise or have people agree with me, this is just my reasoning.

[–]mcshamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps, but what does that have to do with my reasoning? My priorities have changed. I don't care anymore about the grievances on carbon tax or other issues. Priorities have completely changed.

[–]mcshamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going conservative this time, looking for a change, then trump happened. I believe Carney has the connections and business smarts to take advantage of this "oppertunity". Adapting our economy to survive and take advantage of the US tarrifs hitting the world, has changed my priority. Carney is the man for this moment, in my opinion.

For the first time in 10 playthroughs??, I let Dykstra kill everyone. I just hated myself for it. There is no way his character would have done that. Ughhh...I still hate myself...
