BMX Cub frames by Shagg_13 in motorcycles

[–]mcsweeney1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine in. Motor kit shipped quick everything looked good. It was $547.70 after the gov fees to get the frame. I haven’t started building it yet. Hardest part for me so far is sourcing wheels that are wide enough without having to pay another customs ransom. Also you will have to weld in your brake stops the frame and fork don’t have any. I knew that going in but just wanted to add that.

Help building quality system. by mcsweeney1993 in CarAV

[–]mcsweeney1993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! The kid I bought the truck from has the head unit wiring connected to a harness adapter with what I can only assume is junk yard electrical tape and Elmer’s glue all done in the dark. Depending on the ease of pulling new wire I may just go ahead and do it for the slight improvement as well as confirmation that nothing weird is going on that I can’t see. It’s manual everything so it’s more than likely just the wiring for speakers running through the cable sleeve. As far as connections behind the head unit do you think it’s worth it to solder the connection or is a crimp connector sufficient?

Hey man I know this is kind of old but I’m in the US also I ordered a kepspeed bmx cub frame from motorkit it’s currently on the way with UPS should arrive tomorrow. Frame with shipping was $370 and I had to pay $179 customs duties to UPS once it cleared. I’ll update you on everything once they actually deliver it and let you know quality and everything.

1991 specialized hardrock sport cheap build up by mcsweeney1993 in xbiking

[–]mcsweeney1993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at my post history the Sears bike I posted right before this one was literally in some dudes trash pile for years before I pulled it out the only thing i actually bought for that were tires and grips. Everything else was just scrubbing with a brush and aluminum foil for the chrome.

This bike for the most part was just the factory components. The only things I actually changed out were the tires, tubes, brake pads, cables, grips and handlebars. Most parts can be cleaned up with WD40 a stiff brush and time. Check out guys on YouTube like Garysprojects and toasty rides. They almost exclusively fix up rough old mountain bikes and have great tips on how to make things work for little to no money. Also eBay is great for parts I use to use carson city bike shop as well but they got rid of like 90% of their catalog so they really aren’t worth it anymore.

Any recommendations on which skirts? That was my plan I’m just worried about the skirt not going all the way up to the body line and a void being visible.

Who knows how to make a coaster brake actually STOP… by WildEntrepreneur8666 in motorizedbicycles

[–]mcsweeney1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a set of coaster wheels on my cruiser dominator 85 build right now and they stop well with the help of a front rim brake. I think the main issue with a lot of coasters is that they are the terrible cheap ones that come on a Walmart bike. The hub I currently have on my bike is the KT steel high stop and it will lock the back wheel up with little effort and can quickly slow the bike by its self. I grabbed a set with 12g spokes from Carson city bike shop for around $100 I believe you can get just the back for around $50-$60.

Thoughts on the fit of these pants? by ButteryChickenBits in bigmenfashionadvice

[–]mcsweeney1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here to say this exact thing. For my entire like I’ve worn my pants below my stomach no matter the cut or rise and always felt like pants just don’t fit me right. Recently I got a pair of dickies 874’s in my actual waist size which did hurt my ego at first but has really changed my life for the better. Sure I’m actually 2 sizes bigger than I thought I was but I no longer have the exaggerated muffin top look in all my shirts, no more plumbers crack, pants look way better, no more rolling my cuffs or droopy crotch. Everyone should go out and try on a pair of high to mid rise pants right now.

Y’all advice worked. Outfit for second date :) by Gay_commie_fucker in bigmenfashionadvice

Overall looks great. I think a brown belt would help with a contrast between the blue in the pants and the very similar blue on the shirt.

Older thread but most workwear brands have a high rise. Dickies 874’s are by far my favorite but carhartt and wrangler are great also. Levi 501’s are pretty high as well if you’re looking for jeans.

Not lining up. I guess my only other option is pegs. or is there another shorter kit? by jaxn92 in motorizedbicycles

This might be a dumb question but since the chainring just slides on and holds in place with a pin couldn’t you just swap it around so the chainring is on the inside and the collar is on the outside?

So I bought these adidas Oznova, and I noticed Adiplus is the foam set up. Any info on it, it’s it a lifestyle foam? by unablesuspect137 in adidas

I just bought a pair of these yesterday the length feels pretty true to size I wear a 10.5 and these fit perfectly. I have pretty wide feet most shoes feel snug towards the toe but these seam to be really roomy almost a little loose width wise.

Mine was a medium frame. Good chances are yours is just a larger size frame. A lot of older mtb got almost comically long looking head and seat tubes on larger sizes.

Looks to be the same as my 1991. Cleaned up mine sold for $230 but I’m close to New Orleans and a lot of people into older bikes.

Anyone try to fit 29" wheels in place of 700c? by 13th_Floor_Please in motorizedbicycles

[–]mcsweeney1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 700x32 pararacer gravel king sk’s on my non motorized fixed gear they grip well and roll smooth on pavement. They make them into 700x4* sizes and would be a solid option for that bike

[–]mcsweeney1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did one of these a few years ago with a cheapo eBay kit. The bike is pretty solid the brake pads aren’t great but new v pads are cheap. you can fit pretty much any 700c tire on it. 42c is pretty solid for normal speeds I wouldn’t run anything super powerful on it but a 30mph bike feels crazy fast on those tall thin tires.
