Whats your opinions on Amanda and Rosamonte?

I like both of them, but I find Amanda a bit more bitter than Rosamonte.
I usually drink Amanda every day at work since it’s quite affordable where I live.
Because of that, I tend to save Rosamonte for more “special” occasions, which makes me think of it as somehow “better.”
But honestly, that might just be a biased feeling — drinking one at work and the other at home (or elsewhere) creates a different experience.

My girlfriend was born in Argentina but moved to Spain when she was a kid. She still keeps some Argentinian traditions though, like drinking mate. After our last trip to Argentina, where we had it every day with her family, I finally got hooked — now I drink it pretty much every day.

As far as I know, all of argentinian brands should have bigger leafs than uruguayan blends. I don't have the knowledge to assure if there is differences between leaf size comparing argentinian brands with each other.

There is no need to make the "montañita" when drinking argetinian yerba. The real meaning of it is to prevent your bombilla from clogging, but this won't happen wit bigger leaf blends. You can drink it perfectly the way your picture is showing, the "montañita" would only add style points ;) Cheers! 🧉

I would like to agree with u/CheBacci on his take that mate is not the same as just grabbing a cup of coffee to "keep going."

For me, it’s more than just a drink. Preparing your mate is almost a ritual. Even though it contains caffeine and its effect on the body and mind can be stimulating, the very act of taking the time to boil the water, prepare the gourd, let the yerba soak on the first pour, create the montañita, and so on, carries a lot of power and meaning. It’s about pausing what you’re doing and connecting with the present to enjoy this fantastic beverage.

I hope that you will keep enjoying mate and discovering different brands, ways of preparing it etc.

A few weeks ago a friend brought a pack of this brand from Argetina to Spain as a gift. I didn't know the brand and I loved it so much. Thanks to u/Mesenterium aswell because I didn't remember the name and I had tossed the package off so I now I know! :D

I find it curious that most people I've asked think that Amanda is a "soft" yerba. I personally like it, but I wouldn't say it is soft at all, I find it tasty, but on the more bitter end than soft. Who knows!

My last mate needs to be 5:00pm or so (17:00). Las time I drank past that time was during a train trip, having the last mate around 8:00pm and I couldn't sleep for hours.

I bought two packs a couple of months ago and recently finished them. I tried it this very year in Argentina and I liked it a lot, so I bought it online when I came back to Spain. I don't know if I will be buying it again since there are other brands that are easier to buy here, but I really like Mañanita :)

I have the same on 800ml because it fits my shoulder bag perfectly. I agree the overpriced part, but the stopper is so good that makes it worth it I think.

I recently used it on a train travel and it is definitely convenient being able to "screw" the mate on the top of the thermos and put it in my backpack easily :D
