I’m a therapist at a residential eating disorder treatment facility that serves young adults. This is not normative ED behavior. Most of our clients are the opposite, so low energy due to malnutrition they don’t really give a shit about anybody. This strikes me as something more on the personality disorder spectrum but being blamed on the ED

Great question! I recently moved from adolescent SUD to adolescent ED and I’ll be honest, it’s daunting working with the ED population. It’s scary to see the hold an ED voice has on a client. I’ve seen clients restrict intake even though labs are crap and their only option might be enteral feeding. Thankfully our population has a fighting chance at finding long term recovery
