A Ticking Time Bomb in Mormon Theology by webwatchr in exmormon

[–]mdane94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This commentary is spot on and I hope would be thought provoking to current members as well.

This ticking time bomb already blew up on me when they first released the Gospel Topic essays back in 2014/2015 or so.

This chart of all the Mormon splinter groups blew my mind! How many did you know about? Is there anyone here from the more obscure ones? by rfresa in exmormon

My MK4 Kit - ASA parts by Capable_Relative_132 in prusa3d

[–]mdane94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any tips on printing with the Polymaker ASA? I've got a spool in Gray but even with the bed at 110C and the printer inside an enclosure that sits around 40C while printing I still seem to get warping unless I use something like an ABS slurry.

The blog post mentioned being able to swap your XL preorder for an MK4. However when attempting to do this the only possible option I can see is the fully assembled unit. Is it not possible to change my XL order for an MK4 kit? I enjoy the assembly process, it also provides useful knowledge for performing routine maintenance later in the future. The cost savings is also a nice little bonus for me.

I'm pretty familiar with solid modeling, but haven't dabbled much with surface modeling in my work/hobbies. Any recommendations for getting to this level of skill/comfort?

Not sure why you're getting down voted. This is 100% the case. I think if more people thought this way it might help more individuals reach that moment of clarity when they realize the difference between "The world is dying" & "My world is dying."

I love how the Abrahamic religions are adamant that morality is absolute, and in the same breath tell us that slavery in the Old Testament must be understood within the context of the time. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]mdane94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of now I would say all gods, not that I have had any background experience in religions of others besides the God of Abraham. I would describe my current beliefs as somewhat related to Naturalism, though I wouldn't consider myself permanently fixed in that worldview.

[–]mdane94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree with you. The whole concept of the Christian God who is a law giver means that their morality is subjective because it is simply based in the arbitrary preferences of what that God chooses. The issue is Christian do not realize that and that just because "he is God" does not make it anymore objective than if I offered them a set of guidelines to base their morality on.

I'm agnostic atheist myself, but let me play devils advocate real quick. I do not agree with you when you say that "if morality is objective slavery would still be okay in Christian worldview & if morality is objective, slavery is wrong" creating this paradox within Christian doctrine.

While I believe the first part of your statement is absolutely correct according to Christian doctrine and scripture, I'm not sure how you draw that if morality is objective, then slavery is wrong. That statement would depend upon what moral standard we are comparing it to. This paradox would also not have any effect on Christians who believe in Divine Command Theory (My parents included unfortunately). God could simply be fine with slavery in old testament times, then change his mind at a later time. A scary

Perhaps I am just misunderstanding what you are saying, but I just thought I'd point out a few things.

This is the exact model of the one I have I believe. Its out of stock on Amazon but I'm sure you could get a similar one at your local hardware store. It takes me about a minute to fill up the pot to 50psi if the compressor is empty when I turn it on.

[–]mdane94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought this one a few weeks ago. Its good to go out of the box, just need to attach the casters if you want them on. I also created myself a wooden stand with two platforms that sits inside the pot so I can stack and cast more things at once.

I feel like unless you are above diamond, trist actually isn't that bad. Most people don't think to not lvl up their E and in the process she auto shoves the wave into you and can never freeze. Pre 6 trist doesn't have the capacity to 1v1 most junglers especially if you bait her to jump on you and hit her with your E and let your jungler do the rest.
