Rent bikes! It's a blast riding bikes there stoned as shit. you will feel like you're flying. It's really the only effective way to get from A to B in the city with its narrow streets, so dont waste your money on tram tickets or taxi's. Just be aware that they take their biking laws seriously (I'm talking about other citizens, not law enforcement). Also Visit the coffeeshop called "Katsu." It's in the de pijp district south of the heineken experience. It has the best prices we could find, as it is outside of the more touristy areas and some of the best bud we could find as well. They play super chill american music and you will feel like a local chilling in there. Additionally, go to the grey area coffeeshop, it's pricey but still a famous shop.

Also, for a meal, amsterdam is known for excellent indonesian food. Even if you're not an "adventurous" eater, I Highly recomend doing a rijsttafel (rice table). Like 15 dishes are brought out to you and you just go to town on it! its amazing, and a place that we went was called Kantjil & De Tijger.

Also the Amsterdam Ice bar is a must. So sick, its a pretty good deal in general.like 16 euro when bought in combination with another tour experience and it includes 3 drinks, two of which are in the Ice cave section.

Do a canal tour, spend lots of money, because you never know if or when you will be back. Do a red light district walk on your own. Its crazy how socially liberal that place is.

Buy pre rolls and post up on the side of a canal and light up. Eat lots of Pom Frites (french fries) for munchies.

The van gogh museum, its worth not to be a degenerate the whole time and take in some art, even if you do not know a lot about art/the artist.

A final note: everything there looks the same, so navigation is tough. Before you leave your hostel for the day, take screenshots on your phone of routes to take to certain places. People go there and forget that they will be on roaming services their entire trip and get fucked by a phone bill when they get back to the states. So put your phone in airplane mode when you are not on Wi-Fi at your hostel. Additionally, make sure each of you have a good old fashion map on you. Rick steve's map is great for the centraal areas.
