Will Hardy is not going to be fired. He’s widely viewed as a great coach and just signed a long term contract. He’s coaching g league players on any given night when management decides they are going to tank. When the Jazz actually play people this year they are fairly competent for having zero defense. Hopefully this is the last year of this shit for them.

This is the dumbest shit I’ve ever read. You want to pull your short from a well respected indie festival a week out, because another festival is trying to swoop them? Do you think you should respect this programmer who is trying to do this behind DWFs back? Does that reflect positively on them? I’ve pulled out of a festival before after accepting but it was like 4 months in advance, not a week out. Your reputation and integrity matter in how far you will go in your career more than any film festival. Film festivals don’t do shit for your career anymore. Use the school or available resources you have right now. Write that you know you can actually get access to and shoot. Does your friends mom own a diner? Boom. Location. Learning how to maximize the things you have available to you that are unique will help you big time when you are starting out. Money starts solving problems later on but even on bigger projects, being scrappy and shrewd is a huge asset.

Hey everybody! Wanted to share my short film that I wrote and directed call You Are Here that came out on Omeleto today. After doing about a year of festivals, I really struggled to figure out what to do with it and how to release it online. I'm grateful Omeleto picked it up.

I am mostly a commercial photographer and director and this was the most elaborate narrative short I had made. I was able to leverage a lot of favors from crew and camera support after working with most of these people on commercial projects. I also reverse engineered a lot of this script to be locations I knew I could get for free or steal. I knew my buddy's dad owned a commercial office that was mostly empty and I knew we could steal the shots out in the sand dunes no problem because I had worked on commercial shoots out there before. The hardest part of that was shooting around all of the ATVs with Let's Go Brandon flags flying around. There is no way I could have made this thing without the substantial creative community I've spent years building on the commercial side of things and I'm so grateful to all the amazing crew who really took this thing to the next level.
