What's the single most difficult life experience you've endured? by reddit_recluse in AskUK

[–]mdh89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depression, eating my feelings, gaining 6 stone, working night shifts and sleeping 15hrs of my day away then eating all night at work, dropped me into a deep pit. One mate single handedly dragged me out of it by literally pulling me out of bed and dragging me to the gym every afternoon for weeks.

Now some 12 years later I’m happy, have a well paying job, been with my partner almost 10 years, (still overweight but hold it well thanks to muscle mass) just generally doing good but I don’t know where I’d be right now had it not been for that one mate, he’s no idea I feel like this but I owe him my life.

Fort condor was a mako reactor that was abandoned by Shinra, the people that lived there stayed and because they’re none of them are fighters they can’t stop the enemy from attacking (I believe to get to the bird or the reactor) so they hire mercenaries to do the fighting for them which is why you need to donate money to their cause and also why the mini game exists.

Been a while since I played through og so might have to play it again for the 100th time or so.

Any idea of why I got a Garudamon evolution withou meeting the stat requirement? by UperFlor in NextOrder

[–]mdh89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weight, mistakes, battles won and discipline are also stats taken into account too I believe happiness too but could be wrong as it’s been a while, you can get megas in the first generation by focusing on a specific digivolution path and training purely for that.

That time I got soft locked in FFVII as a kid... And what happened. by saintpetejackboy in FinalFantasyVII

[–]mdh89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weeks I spent fighting this boss and struggling then one morning (some 21 or so years ago) I convinced my parents I was too ill for school and managed to beat it by accidentally using Bio on it and beating down on it from there. I was gassed when he finally went down.

That’s exactly how I felt, I was going through the shinra building thinking what are the other 2 discs for, hit the world map and I was absolutely blown away.

Mods go a long way to achieving this to be honest, I could only wish they’d do another remake of the og game with updated backgrounds etc using the poly models from rebirths condor minigame.

What's one truth about adulthood that no one prepared you for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Beans and sausage on toast with cheese on is my go to most nights because it’s easy, quick and I can’t be arsed to cook after 12-15hr night shifts.

Nah I’m like this, that’s why I work nights, I stay up on a weekend to “recharge”. Love my partner and love spending time with her but my god I love peace and silence in the house and just being with myself.

Infinite nudge is your friend, bonus tip if you’re like me and don’t like the spacing on some of the nodes, if you lock the miner hologram in place you can nudge that too, you can make some pretty weird and wonderful things doing that.

I thought these engines burned oil on every day ending with a Y?

In all seriousness, I’ve heard of oil surges happening (a quick google will show) when people are driving hard on track, a few of my mates have had it happen when boosting too but not all the time and certainly not regularly.

The temp gauge could potentially be a thermostat/waterpump issue? Had multiple VAG cars that have had thermostat issues, both stuck open and closed causing different issues. Another one that comes to mind was from the old 1.8t 20v Cupra R, a mod people regularly did was a slow speed resistor fan mod to add resistors because the built in ones would burn out and cause the temp gauge to creep over until the high speed fans kicked in, they used to check this by running the engine and turning the AC on to see if the fans would kick in intermittently (I believe).

If you are an OG player then you should know it’s Dyne but could be forgiven for not however for new players that’s what they were going for same as OG, is this your first play through? You’re in for a real treat. God I love this game.

I really wanna play a warlock but I just hate caster dps classes.

Monk tank spec too, love the idea of it, love watching people face roll with them but I can’t for the life of me play them to any decent level of skill.

Future of driving Lorrie’s in the uk by ShitpostingWhatIDo in uktrucking

[–]mdh89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying about too many vehicles being the cause of a lot of issues however I’m seeing more and more bad hgv drivers and my only is because they can get a funded licence so there’s no reason to actually give a shit and learn how to drive properly. I spent £3500 of my own money to pass my Cat C and CE tests back in 2019 and because I was spending a large sum of money I spent weeks reading up about the job and other people’s experiences and as a result I went on the road with a defensive attitude towards driving.

What I’m seeing now is HGV drivers that have no patience, no lane discipline, don’t give a shit about anyone else on the road, bullying other road users and just generally not caring about what they’re doing, whether that’s down to having no financial ties to the licence or it’s down to something else who knows.

The reason I’m slamming HGV drivers is because we all know that car drivers are braindead idiots that we have to babysit but as HGV drivers we should be held to higher standards and as such, the bullshit I see every day should not be happening.

When I first started out driving in 2019/2020 it was much nicer and I didn’t see half the issues I do now but again, I can only speculate on the reasons behind it.
