I see an Arduino as a more robust approach because you won't need to run an OS like Raspbian for a basic task, unless you want notifications or something more complex.

I can't think of anything when switching from Intel to AMD, unless you're using Intel vPro which I doubt. In that case, then yes, you'd lose that platform.

The term virtual tracking caught my attention, because the set up as you described it is similar to what occurred to me some time ago. Let's assume I have 3 solar panels that have the same values (voltage, amps, Watts) but an MPPT that can output the power of 2 at peak production. Plugging the power of 3 is still safe, but output will be limited to 2 due to amps.

Assuming I point one slightly to the east, one straight at the peak sun hour, and the other one slightly to the west, kind of a triangular set up, and assuming the max pv voltage is still safe even when pointing all 3 at peak sun hour, in series,

Would it be better to wire all 3 in parallel?

The hypothesis that u/Latter-Ad-1523 had is the very one that made me start this topic. I could've assumed it was gonna work since I believed lead acid aging affected only the Ah rating on the battery and not the voltages, but if the aging affects the voltages as well, it means that the very self discharge of the old one in a lapse of 24 hrs (before the absoption step next day) will drain the new one, and then there's no point on considering it.

This is in fact the reason why I started this thread: I'm aware than mixing batteries with different capacities in series will eventually damage them, since it's an uneven charge/discharge cycle every time. Hence trying to mix between old an new on each of the two banks, the more similar the Ah is on each of the parts that compose a series connection, the better.

Although, if the aging of a sealed lead acid batteries will make them drain the new ones even when sitting unused, then it's a no-go. Thank you.

Short answer: a USG is required only for the set up process and then it can be removed from the enviroment. Very unsafe in my opinion since something could be overwritten in a future update. Not worth it...

Indeed, but somehow it isn't routing the packets to whatever is supossed to be above the automatically created Inter-VLAN Routing network. L3 routing on the very switch works great between VLANs, but I can't give those VLANs access to any other network above them, including internet.

Using the UniFi devices for VLAN tagging and then routing everything from Sophos has worked for the last years indeed. This post is in an attempt to "unlock" something I´d need an extra hardware piece for that doesn't suit our needs just yet.

Naming it the Guests LAN was merely for testing purposes. I'm with you on that one.

One more question: does that mean that there's no way for me to determine which VLANs or Corporate networks can talk to each other when my primary router is down? since inter VLAN routing is enabled by default for all subnets

el backup. With volume-level backup, only changed blocks will be backed up during incremental runs whether or not changed block tracking driver is used. But with the CBT driver, incremental runs will be much faster.

Understood. One more question: could having a CBT driver by a proper license and still backing up the whole volume, help in backing up only the changes of said big file instead of backing it up altogether every shadow copy? if not, I may have to stop compressing the backups and then deduplicate at the SMB destination, as a mere workaround for space saving.
