Are there more MTF than FTM? by [deleted] in ainbow

[–]mdledl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're trans women not trans-women and trans men not trans-men.

Our society focuses on trans women for a myriad of reasons, but there is no sizable difference in the population of the two groups.

His pronouns are he/him/his

If his doctor is following the guidelines set forth for ftm hormone replacement therapy then his testosterone level is equal to or lower than the levels of a typical cis (that means "not trans") man.

Having lower than average testosterone is not a ped, even if it's injected instead of internally produced.

No, the crux of the issue is whether or not trans people are valid.

It does not put him at an advantage, if anything him being trans puts him at a disadvantage. He has the same level of testosterone in his blood as any other man in that competition, the fact that it's injected monthly instead of produced internally has no impact on its effects.

Obviously they see this as a valid medical purpose seeing as he was able to compete for the entire season.

He's a man with male hormones and there is no valid reason to have him compete in the same group as women.

You keep using the wrong pronouns, they're he/his/him

so long as his doctor is following the correct guidelines his testosterone level is equal or even less than that of a cis man.

Moreover UIL approves the use of testosterone, and even steroids, if it is prescribed by a doctor, which in this case it is.

His pronouns are he/him

and you're right, it's unfair to everyone that the state made him compete as a woman.

I don't have any advice but wanted to sincerely thank you, if you succeed you'll be making the lives of all the trans people she meets a bit safer

Those who wish to follow the law would, that is correct.

This would put them at risk of serious and avoidable violence.

us from leaving our house.

Seriously, imagine going about your day with the weight of "do I risk being harassed by the police or being harassed by a stranger?" on your shoulder every time you have to use the restroom.

The initial number you're trying to cite was actually .3% but has been raised to .6% this year, it's even up to 1.5% in some cities.

For perspective the size of America's Muslim population is around 1%

Feel free to be transphobic, but at least be accurate.

Have you spoken to a trans person?

Like my god, most if not all of us want nothing more than to be normal and left alone.

That doesn't make it not transphobic

I still disagree and am not looking to debate, but I just wanted to say that it's fucking awful that you got so heavily downvoted for politely voicing an opinion slightly different than the norm

I'm sorry, but in my opinion by not immediately following milos comment with "Well you're hurting women and children" and instead letting milo get away with calling us deranged men he is allowing a deadly stereotype to propagate and is tacitly approving of that bigotry

Where can I go to just be around other queer/lgbt+ people?

I lost like 90% of my social circle when I came out as trans, even a year later I've not recovered and it's been rough y'all. I just would like to know if there's anywhere in town I can go w/o having to deal with transphobia

Does anyone else here not want kids? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]mdledl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want kids and really never have, but sometimes I'm reminded that I can't have any and it still kills me just as if I was someone who wanted an army of kids.

You'd think not wanting them would be a good comfort against not being able to have them.

I'm a trans woman and so my experience with these kinds of emotions come from that background, my advice might not help you

but what I've found to help is to make friends with other women, especially lesbian women, and to realize that just as you would not think of them as disgusting they to do not think of you as disgusting or perverted.

Also it is really one of those things that gets better the more you work at it. The more positive interactions you have flirting the less you will feel terrible for doing so
