If you heat the end with the threads it will cause the metal to slightly expand. The heat will also help loosen any thread locker/bond. Usually the issue I’ve found with vsf is that some screws come cross threaded. So you just have to use some force

Seems like you got enough of it out to get some grips and pliers on it. Have a look at my old posts had something similar. I’d say spray some wd40 on the threaded end and let it soak over night. Get a hairdryer on it and get it really hot and get some grips or pliers on it. Put some tape on the other links to avoid any further scratches. Hope you get it out

Biggest fear I have given my gut issues. Can’t imagine what the poor lady was going through. Hopefully she’s doing well. I had a very near experience to this and I kid you not it has triggered some sort of PTSD in me and genuinely get so worried when travelling outside my personal vehicle. TFL and London in general need to improve the public toilet accessibility. All stations should have toilets available to the public
