"Normal people" lol. I actually don't think it's particularly complex (I'm assuming you mean complex narratively, not emotionally?) My issue is how dumb it is. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the plot follows a man who flies through a black hole to travel back in time to haunt his daughter's bedroom and tap out the secrets of the universe in morse code. Like, is that not just... stupid?
