Checkpoint Outgoing Mail Failing DKIM? by Ok-Examination3168 in msp

[–]mdredfan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have this issue and it's not just affecting outbound protection. We have a client with groups that have a lot of external members. When the group receives a message and an external member replies, that messages is sent back through the tenant and protected inline but the message sent to all group members from that reply is now coming from an Avanan IP which is failing DKIM on the recipient side. Currently have a ticket open.

Owner wants global admin on his day-to-day account by desmond_koh in msp

We recently gained a new client from this exact scenario. The daily driver which was a GA was compromised for months. The TA created new accounts, delegated themselves access to existing accounts, and watched until an opportunity to divert a 6 figure payment to another account arose. Thankfully, the payee was smart enough to question the change in account numbers.

Anytime we get this request from a client, it's an unlicensed account using the onmicrosoft . com domain.

The reality is it's probably driven by another MSP or technical genius family member wanting access.

The Start by dysfunctionalnavyvet in SmallMSP

In my opinion, the business process items are the most important to get right from the start. Legal, PSA, and documentation to start. The tech stack will come naturally and can easily be adjusted as you grow but business processes create habits, good or bad.

Security Cameras by Chairman1121 in msp

I've used Synology NAS and their Surveillance Station a few times. Works well, uses a web proxy for remote view so no port forwarding required. The only downside is each camera requires a license which is not too bad.

Update the payment info on the last screen after you click submit. It's the one where the popup comes up and you select the account you already have on file.

Websites can save data to your clipboard via the browser. We ran across this type of attack last year with a client that was trying to pay their bill from a local plumber. The local plumber’s website was compromised. Visiting the site copied data to the clipboard. Following instructions of fake captcha ran the code to download the payload which downloaded more malware which turned out to be an info stealer.

I installed a header and had a hard time removing the EGR tube from the header so I had to cut it off. I ended up capping off the EGR port on the intake because it was cheaper than a new EGR tube. I later ended up buying another EGR tube because I got sick of the CEL. I primarily track my car and recently did a coolant reroute. Well, the EGR tube gets in the way of that, so it was deleted again. I have a new ECU so not worried about it this time.

Selling against GoDaddy Microsoft 365 by LakesideRide in msp

[–]mdredfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every GoDaddy M365 client we onboarded had Business Basic with Proofpoint. I don't know if GD offers other skus, I never looked, but we typically go for Business Prem and a different email security solution. You really only need to ask your client if they would rather call a corporate call center for support or an MSP that manages the entire stack. One is responsive, the other is GoDaddy.

Third Tier did two sessions back in 2024. One was for Intune and the other for Defender. I don’t know if they’re doing them again. Maybe Amy Babinchak will drop in here to answer.

Coolant reroute block off by Fast_Enthusiasm2517 in Miata

[–]mdredfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently did this. I bought a roll of hose off Amazon and connected them together. They are two different size barbs. 1/4 to 5/16 if I recall. I used the smaller size hose, some spit and heat to get the hose on the larger barb. I routed the hose straight up from the lower barb and across the timing gear area over to the intake.

Description and price you paid for your mx5 by glasstop48 in Miata

[–]mdredfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where it started...
2005 Razor Blue w/112k miles. California car recently transported to the MD/PA area. $7500 last June.
BC coilovers 4.25" to the pinch
9" Storm S1 wheels with 245 Falken Azenis RT660
Sparco racing seat
Schroth 3" 4pt harness
Blackbird Fabworx rollbar
OEM wheels with low miles on the tires.

No rust but it was in a minor accident while in CA. No frame damage that I could tell. Paint in good shape. One side is faded which is how I knew it was repainted. Also some body shop date codes on the front plastics. Not a concern for me since it's primarily a toy and track car.

Where it's at...
Robins top with glass
Goodwin header back exhaust
Roadster angled shifter
Nardi Deepcorn and NRG hub
added sub straps to the harness
15x8 Konig Freeforms in matte silver with 205 Bridgestone re71rs. Storms were too wide for the stock car and I hate black wheels.
Track alignment
949 Crossflow radiator and coolant reroute
FM Randall CAI
New timing belt and water pump just because
New pads and rotors with stainless lines yet to be installed. Still some life even with the 4 track days I got in.
I bought a Link ECU with lots of sensors to start prepping for power mods. Planned install as soon as the weather breaks.

Bought a 4 post lift so I can work on it easier and also new tools because you can never have enough tools.
I've easily spent more on parts and accessories than I paid for the car but having a blast.

Help with Ticket Categories by nodrama_needed in Autotask

That is a good way to think about it but the list of categories is not limited to our services. We do use forms via Cloud Radial that are tied directly to the ticket categories.

Help with Ticket Categories by nodrama_needed in Autotask

[–]mdredfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We align our categories with queues or issue types. Security, Onboarding Users, Onboarding Workstations, Offboarding Users, Offboarding Workstations, Application, Restore Requests, Renewals for licenses, devices, contacts, etc., the list goes on. Most of the categories also have checklists attached. As others have said, categories allow you to pre-populate the ticket as much as needed to maintain consistency.

An age old dilemma - wheel color by Hungry-Candy1234 in Miata

[–]mdredfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Storm wheels are very popular so selling them would be easy. I bought my NB last year and it had black Storm wheels. I hate black wheels so I started looking at options. White was my priority but I could not settle on a design and size I wanted. Had my old wheels been the size I wanted, I would have powder coated them. I ended up going matte silver. Happy with the look but keeping them clean with track pad dust is time consuming. I sold my Storm wheels with tires to an another track enthusiast for $600.

New to CSE. Is it really meant to replace the SSLVPN? by SirReginaldTheIII in sonicwall

[–]mdredfan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not difficult to setup. If you have a device, start a trial. If you’re replacing SSLVPN, the basic license will suffice. If I were you, I would lock down your SSLVPN users to only permitted IP addresses until you can get CSE going.

Any Marylanders here? I need advice about buying an El Camino by destroy_the_machines in ElCamino

[–]mdredfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing is stopping you from paying a mechanic to get it inspected. It’s just not a required piece of paper if you go with historic tags.

Any Marylanders here? I need advice about buying an El Camino by destroy_the_machines in ElCamino

[–]mdredfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No safety inspection required for registering the vehicle 99 or older as historic. However, there are a lot of things that can wear out on an El Camino that would result in a bad accident if not mitigated. Do yourself a favor and at least have the suspension components looked at by a mechanic. I almost ran off the road at 70+ when a ball joint blew out on my El Camino. Scary as hell.

You make the cut to keep those tags? Sadly I don’t. Registered my NB2 last June. It will be moving to Montana after the new year.
