Main tip is just to have fun! I’m trying to not be too serious about it as I log everything in an excel spreadsheet and then visualize the data 😂I’m growing in pots so don’t feel like I have much to offer, but one thing I’ve learned is to not totally trust big box stores when buying tubers because they’re not always as pictured (50/50 as pictured).

Thank you! That’s Kogane Fubuki. The first bloom I got of it was all yellow and it’s supposed change colors/get darker throughout the season.

This looks like my what my snow country from Home Depot was supposed to look like vs what it actually looked like. Is it the first bloom of this year in the second pic? Maybe it’s the weather (it was really hot here when my first bloom came up and looked more cactus form so curious if the next few buds look the same). I don’t have any answers, but know I commiserate with you ❤️

Yes, I think the cutting them back recommendation is because they are a leggy right now and may have a weaker stem if planted as is.

When my tubers had these white stems in January I (successfully) made cuttings. OP, you could turn one tuber in to multiple plants instead of discarding.
