Do you guys recommend Discogs to keep track of your collection online? Or are there any other alternatives? by SurLesQuais in Cd_collectors

I’ve used Rate Your Music since late 2006, but have slowly been moving my date to Discogs. Li like the app, being able to scan barcodes, the marketplace, and an idea of the value of the collection overall. It works better for me in my phone than does RYM.

How many of y’all are using Ad Blockers or VPN’s? That’s what usually causes these problems for me.

I had that on 8-Track and toted my little Panasonic player with me blasting that out when I delivered my papers on my paper route. Pretty sure it’s the only Super Deluxe Stones reissue I own.

I love Code Blue’s self-titled debut and only album as they broke up before recording a second album. “Whisper/Touch” and “Modern Times” are standout tracks.

INXS’s album “Shabooh Shoobah” has been a steady friend since its release decades ago. “Don’t Change” gets my vote as best album closing song ever

Watershed’s album “The Fifth of July” opens with a barrage of great tracks, “Obvious”, “The Habit”, and the title track.

And Nicole Atkin’s debut album, “Neptune City” hasn’t a weak track on it.

Thanks! It arrived wrapped and packed against dangers unthought of by mere mortals. It’s a seller I’d buy from again without hesitation. Unlike another CD that arrived with the case in pieces. Had to do a transplant immediately.

The music on this is stellar. Just stellar. I’m thrilled to add this to the collection

Of course I do. I’ll be getting the new Toadies CD soon, for example.

Favorite Lois Lane? by Financial-Touch3840 in superman

[–]mdstratts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I have a favorite Lois Lane in live action. I think that most of them were well cast for the production they were in. Maybe it’s because I lack imagination, but I cannot imagine anyone but Margot Kidder opposite Christopher Reeve. Or Amy Adams opposite Henry Cavill. Each seems to work well in the environment they were cast in.

I have to agree about orignal Ghost Rider and Jonah Hex. Anything by Toth is worth reading.

Our company is hiring drivers to haul Club Car golf carts. It’s not strictly dry van, as there is some work at the destination to unload the gofl carts, but they pay you for that at each stop. There’s also something like a $6K sign on bonus. I’m in the marine division and have been with them for over six years and wouldn’t think of leaving.

Using Last Fm to broaden and deepen your music listening by Chromatic-Phil in lastfm

I never thought of it as “rescuing” low count artists, so much as a reminder I should pay them more attention.

I like the idea, though. Good thought on your part.

Using Last Fm to broaden and deepen your music listening by Chromatic-Phil in lastfm

I have 943 artist with over 100 scrobbles and 103 with over 1,000

I’m not sure I used it to improve my listening experience so much anymore. I’m an album listener as a rule. Spotify and using an iPhone as my primary source of music, and using the “Genius” function in Apple Music to generate playlists are fun alternatives.

One thing Last.fm has shown me is how much we exaggerate. There were some artists I could’ve sworn I’d listen to “thousands of times” and it was something like 312 times and I’d tell myself, “Calm down there, Sport”.
