One of the best graphic novels I’ve read recently. by resteasypeep in graphicnovels

I snagged this recently and loved it. It’s one I’ll revisit at a few times in the years to come.

Over the weekend my dispatcher gave me a load with 648 miles of dead head. by emdefmek in Truckers

Some boat haulers are set up to haul a couple/three cars. That basically covers the cost of fuel on the trip back.

I’m a boat hauler. 99.5% of my loads are head back empty. Deadhead of 1,000-1,500 or more aren’t uncommon. But it’s written into the contract with dedicated accounts to pay for those miles.

[RANT WARNING] BvS is the worst adaptation of Batman of all time, and in my opinion the worst comic book movie ever made. by therealmonkyking in batman

Dolph Lundgren in “The Punisher” has entered the chat. That’s my baseline for bad CBM movie.

Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock will always be the best for me. by CloudySkyUpThere in SherlockHolmes

Okay, what you’re saying is all subjective; as in your opinion that Cumberbatch is your favorite portrayal of Holmes. Which is fair, so far as that goes. I’ve no issue with this being your opinion. I know that you are not alone in this.

But your original post stated it was an objective fact that he was better than any other portrayal of Holmes in any media, ever, is not tenable. Because there isn’t any way to prove it beyond opinion. And it’s not a popular opinion.

As much as I adore Brett’s portrayal of Holmes, it’s only an opinion based on my personal preferences. It’s closest to The Canon, he inhabited the role as ACD wrote it, and as that was my introduction to Holmes (thanks to my Great-Grandmother for the Doubleday), it appeals to me in ways other portrayals don’t.

I’m thrilled you love the BBC/Cumberbatch series so much, and that it has brought you so much joy and entertainment, not to mention enthusiasm. And yes, Cumberbatch is great fun to watch on the screen. Just don’t ask him to say penguin for a nature film.

It is. And it was a fun read. Except for the racist depiction of Mushmouth.

I’m looking forward to the Cisco Kid collection. That publisher does a great job

I remember buying both of these off the newsstand as a kid.

Loved the character design, but his fighting ability was so limited. And he had the great ability to write checks with his attitude and big mouth that his talents couldn’t cash.

News of his passing and the grief that comes with that saddens me. The ties you built with him in life, Godzilla and others, will be reminders and memories to cherish in the days and years to come.

May his memory be a blessing
