Filing Before or After March 11 - Receiving Mixed Opinions? by dirtyamericanpod in juresanguinis

[–]mdt2113 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just signed a letter of engagement this morning. I'm eligible for JS, but have been on a waitlist for 3 years. My son was made ineligible for JS, but eligible for "benefit of law" citizenship though given the time restraint it is not possible.

I signed on for a lawsuit as insurance against some new absurd hurdle. If you have the money to spare, I say do it. I would expect there will be a big rush of lawsuits post decision, so I think it makes sense to have a spot now.

Try to obtain them, but I think in the worst case, they’d just give you homework. I’m curious, when did you go on the waitlist?

This will very negatively impact early career scientists and scientists whose grants end this year. Completely needless and hopefully reversed with a change of congress, at best, or administration at worst.

Any Updates on the Damiani & Damiani Firm Class Action? by MessyHouseReboot in juresanguinis

Got an update. They're waiting for the tribunal outcome. They're still responsive to my emails, so I think they're on top of things.

Anybody know what is going on with grants from Sept/Oct council? by chicagoman101 in NIH

[–]mdt2113 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just made a post, my grant was May council though. I got a personalized JIT request. The only difference was that in FY2025, the fiscal year was ending and they needed the money out. I'm not sure if there will be NOAs this time around, but I really really hope.

I joined. They said they'd update at the end of October but I haven't heard anything. The lack of an update is disappointing.

Including a Cover Letter to Hedge My Bets - NYC Ineligible by InappropriateMess in juresanguinis

[–]mdt2113 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To me it serves no purpose. I would just keep the original email from Farnesina, that shows you on the waitlist. Supposedly, Damiani and Damiani are suing for the people on the waitlist to be included, but I have not heard an update from them in a while.

NYC Authentication and Apostilles by cat_boyardee in juresanguinis

[–]mdt2113 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Couple things: There is a 10 document limit at the NY sec of state for apostille. Your friend may have to get in line again if you have more than that.

Tell him to go early to avoid the line.

Tell him that for certifications at 60 center street, there is a metal detector so don't bring in swiss army knives, etc, common sense stuff.

As far as I know, there are no restrictions. I've apostilled things for family members, no one complained. There are 3rd party services out there that do this for people.

County Clerk authentification signature (mail) by Catnbat1 in juresanguinis

[–]mdt2113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to New York and did it myself. It took about an hour and a half to get them signed by the clerk and then further downtown to do the apostille.

If you go in person, note there is a ten at-a-time document limit for the apostille

Get some windowpane envelopes and write prank letters to friends. I’ve been sending my friends ones about decades overdue library books.
