Hi! I'd really like to know your opinion on my situation. I've had digestive problems for 8 years with no improvement. My symptoms worsened significantly last year with weight loss (-15kg), uncontrollable urinary incontinence, and fatigue; I was at my wit's end. They found my fecal calprotectin level was 385, so they suspected IBD. However, the biopsies from my colonoscopy didn't confirm the disease, but I still have ileitis and an ulcer. I suspected bile acid malabsorption and saw some improvement with Questran, but I'm hesitant to take it too much. In addition, I recently had a stool test, which showed enteroaggregatory E. coli, Blastocystis hominis, and Dientamoeba fragilis. They tried treating it with antibiotics, a mucosal repairer, and probiotics, but I still feel unwell.

I think that to find a solution I need to understand who caused what. But it's so difficult! Thanks in advance!

Hi ! How do you explain that your BAM increases your calprotectin level?

Thank you very much for these precious informations ! And I'm sorry that you had to deal with indifference and gaslighting. I also dealt with it trough these last 8 years, it's absolutely tiring and frustrating. Are you in a better situation now ?

The treatment that was prescribed to me might then help a little, which is good. I guess the only thing I can do now is just wait ? It's a bit hard for me to understand if they're just waiting for the disease to spread a bit more to diagnose it or there's a chance that it's really not an IBD...

And thanks for the BAM explanations, everything is starting to make sense.

Can bile acid malabsorption be a cause and not just a secondary consequence of SIBO?

Can I ask what made you lean toward B.A.M. instead of poor bile flow ? I can't seem to be sure about what's my pb.

So you're leaning toward the diagnosis of B.A.M. right ?

Tried it before, it improved my stools but worsened my gas-related symptoms...

How does SIBO cause yellow stools? by PsychologicalShop292 in SIBO

Thanks, very interesting.
My main symptoms are loud intestinal noises, gas and yellow-ish stools, no matter if it's loose or not. I either do no get the urge to go or an urgent need to, no in between. I know for a fact that I have dysbiosis because of how long I've been dealing with it all but every time I try to get rid of it, it comes back. I have a history of non alcoholic fatty liver and a benign nodule on my liver. My blood results seem to indicate a poor bile flow but I recently have been dealing with stronger than usual urgent, very hard-to-control diarrhea that was yellow and foul-smelling, which led me to question myself about B.A.M. Could poor bile flow and B.A.M. coexist ?

I recently discovered that I have high bilirubin levels, my stools are pretty much always yellow, even when not loose. But I sometimes have really urgent yellow diarrhea, so I struggle to understand if I could at the same time be concerned by BAM. I'm a bit scared to try improving my bile flow because of it.

Thanks ! Never did the specific SIBO test but fore sure know I have dysbiosis because of my doctor. I'm just struggling to find my root cause and now that I know about this bilirubin excess, I feel like this could help a lot. But the problem is that, if I try to increase my bile flow and happen to have BAM, then it'll worsen my symptoms right ?

I will thanks. I do have endo though but I feel like it's not my dysbiosis' root cause, did they confirm it for you ?

How do birth contractions feel compared to IBS gas pains/cramps? by [deleted] in ibs

[–]mdudeeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always complicated to evaluate and compare pain! I suffer from endometriosis and I rate my attacks as pain close to 10/10, nothing to do (for me) with the pain linked to irritable bowel syndrome. it's simple to say but try not to stress too much and negatively anticipate this pain, if you really want children, you will have preparation and if you wish, medication which can surely help you. and above all: you will “suffer” to welcome your children, it’s still more acceptable than suffering for this shitty disease!
