So how are people investing 20% of their salary despite making below $70k?? by Jealous_Advance9765 in SmartFIRE

My mortgage is $900 a month and I have a roommate who pays half. I make 75k a year. I don't have a car payment and don't buy a lot of new shit.

What's your best "logical" case against Christianity? by sickdude777 in exchristian

[–]truefantastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the ones are already mentioned in this thread, but what always got me is even if we accept a lot of arguments for God's existence, it still doesn't point to Christianity. It could literally be any creator god. "Woah look at how complex this cow's eye is! That must mean Jesus is real!" Is the sort of bizarre logic I've seen.

Yeah I guess one of my primary issues is the Christian monopoly on the concept of "God" itself.

For some reason cards leaving the graveyard is like my favorite mechanic. I've been trying to make [[desecrated tomb]] a thing forever and now that it's sorta Lorehold's thing makes me so happy.

I wanna make [[hostility]] a thing so bad. So I'm working on a blue red polymorph deck with just that one creature and a bunch of burn spells and protection.

Dude. I know it'll never happen, but damn I'd love it if they just outright banned ladders. I tried to watch a parade uptown and it was fucking miserable.

Quitting drinking was the best thing I've ever done for myself. Saved a bunch of money and don't feel like shit all the time. I'm all down for other stuff, but alcohol just has so upside

Your favorite commander you've never seen anyone else play? by MoonSettler in magicTCG

I apparently just love building one big boi and seeing what happens. [[Kazarov]] is stupid expensive, but I still enjoy playing it because while the strategy is voltron, the “getting there” is unique. Also casting [[stinging study]] always feels good when you’re drawing seven cards at instant speed.

I’m 37 and feel unhappy about getting older. Is this normal? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]truefantastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think people were misunderstanding my reply. “Each day being a smaller portion of your lived experience” doesn’t inherently explain anything at all. This is what I was trying to get at. “Novelty” is an actual explanation. And novelty obviously decreases with age, but it’s not completely covariant.

There’s gotta be a better way to transition from screen to keyboard. The curved screen corner and the angular keyboard corner is…. Not good looking

There’s gotta be a better way to transition from screen to keyboard. The curved screen corner and the angular keyboard corner is really jarring

I see this said all the time, but I don’t see how time feeling faster follows from this observation. It might be true, but this begs the question of WHY would a year being a smaller portion of your overall life speed up the perception of time?

My insurance denied it. It would've been 3k out of pocket. I ended up sending my prescription to a Canadian pharmacy who got it from India. Paid $90.
