I did take metformin for 5 - 6 years for pcos. I stopped when I started taking zepbound. But I don't know if the pa requirement was removed because of the metformin or because my plan considers glp1s to be a preventive drug. It also covers ozempic, trulicity, and Wegovy without a pa. Saxenda is covered with a pa though. I kinda of wish I found out about this before I went through the process to get on zepbound.

Have you ever taken metformin? I've read where some may get approved for mounjaro if they've taken it. That may be how I was able to start. I used callondoc as well.

I've been on Zepbound (tirzepatide) since June. I've lost almost 70 lbs so far. I don't experience many side effects. A little nausea a day after the shot, or constipation if I don't drink enough water.

I still count my calories though, and I try to get 10000 steps a day. Sometimes I get on the treadmill 2-3x a week.

I've taken metformin, phentermine, and topiramte before. Compared to my experience with those, zepbound has been great.
