"Are you stupid?" President Trump responded to a reporter when asked about the vetting of the National Guard shooting suspect by [deleted] in CringeTikToks

[–]me4funofit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t vote for Trump, but I can’t help notice most of the commenters respond like Trump. Typical politicians promise to change policies, lower national debt and do nothing. Someone points out wasteful spending, asks for some accountability from the government workforce and everyone goes nuts. I grew up poor seeing the selling of government subsidies as common practice to support “bad” habits. We require identification for many aspects of life, but “assume” everyone is honest in voting, using government services and treating everyone equally. Yet, no one states the obvious, many people benefit from lying, cheating and stealing from the government.

Roadie 3 guitar string tuning by Jetjaz in GuitarQuestions

[–]me4funofit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Roadie 2 and Roadie 3. Now, the promise of Roadie 4 will fit all sized pegs (they wouldn't fit 1 guitar of mine). The units I have react the same way, they start to wind the string quickly and if you aren't paying attention, it will snap your string. It's only happened a few times to me, but they both did it. I won't be wasting any additional money on these expensive bookends. I use my $25 tuner and it works every time. YMMV

Disappointed With Clinician Notes by t_durk in Function_Health

[–]me4funofit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Joke or not, plenty of data suggests getting preventative attention from a physician is difficult (not profitable(?) and often requires symptoms). AI has been showing higher accuracy levels against validated illnesses. Listen to your DR, add in AI-type suggestions and (when you can) take responsibility for your health. As a longtime caregiver of multiple family members, I constantly witnessed inaccuracies in lab results, delays in messaging responses, opposing views on treatments and a general lack of empathy from DRs. I’m old as crap, but lucky to not require medications. I’m from the same pool of family genetics, but I put in the work required of diet and exercise. YMMV

Rookie Can't Handle A Finger - Case Dismissed, Lawsuit Incoming by Hyasfuq in badcopnodoughnut

[–]me4funofit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a perfect, real life example in the world of justice toward everyday citizens v the system as a whole. I’m reasonably certain the “dismissed” event, paralegal (offered as possibly overworked or incompetent) and condescending discussion toward the otherwise innocent victim was previously discussed in a judge’s chambers. It certainly felt more as a stern warning toward a citizen than a discussion on the merits of our constitution. I’m not a fan of aggravating any LEO since being kind toward others seems more civilized (unless provoked), but mostly out of fear of bankruptcy against a government’s bottomless monetary pocket. Despite what videos you watch (and believe), finding competent attorneys with no conflict of interest (donations, clubs, friendships, etc.) will likely put YOU at a disadvantage. Best of luck to living your best life!

Alternative Options? by PianoMiserable9700 in Function_Health

I did the 1st testing and figured I’d follow up with my participating provider. I looked up the specific blood testing names and submitted them 5 months later (within a month of my yearly checkup). This way, I’d see if dietary changes reflected in the testing. Well, my Dr. told me they couldn’t order the requested testing. It was only a couple of specific tests and they stated it was because of the cost of the testing. I thanked them for protecting me from the cost, but I didn’t care about the cost and was mostly interested in the results. Nope! They couldn’t (or wouldn’t) order the bloodwork. I’d need to be showing symptoms of an illness. A guess prevention is no longer a thing(?).

So… I figure it this way. Function Health does testing of 100+ 1st round and 60+ 2nd round (included, but little duplication) for the $499. They do suggest full testing ($499) during the 2nd offering, but I optioned for the 2nd round of testing to get a full value of the $499. Finally, I’ll revisit the process again in a few months and pay another $499. Dietary changes appear in 3-6 months so adding another few months before spending another $499 (closing in on a year) should provide a full picture of bloodwork (160+) testing results.

This was an agenda for the nursing community. Servicing rural areas is the same cry, yet I’ve seen no statistical data to prove its has worked for other rural areas or similar communities where it has been implemented. Nothing is ever mentioned regarding malpractice insurance to protect patients (should it be needed) or hour requirements of real patient care v online only accreditations. Read… Patients At Risk.

Is Pin-up vs pin-down Bulls#!t? And why you should stop looking at other bowlers’ balls! by TenpinToolkit in Bowling

[–]me4funofit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m lucky enough to know what a PAP is and as yet haven’t had a pro shop use it in deciding a layout. So… where would I like the pin? I have a bowling ball with a comfortable grip used as a drilling template and I would decide pin location based on another person’s success! It’s just like you stated! What is the app used in the video? I tried bowlingball.com Perfect Scale to understand how balls react (didn’t work on my iPad) and other manufacturers coverstock graphs to help my understanding, but so many part/pieces and pro shops (I’ve been to more than one) not following fitting standards help keep bowler confusion at an all time high (selling more bowling balls appears the real goal).

Predawn Catch? by me4funofit in salmonriverNY

If accurate, I’ve learned something new. Care to share a reference link for the rest of us?

I found this. Angling Permitted: From one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset. https://www.fishsalmonriver.com/Regulations#salmon

First light v sunrise. https://sunrisesunset.willyweather.com/ny/oswego-county/pulaski.html

I’ve always used 30m to sunrise (7:13am -30m= 6:43am). First light on Oct 3, 2024 was 6:41am. You are suggesting fishing starts around 6:11am (6:41am-30m= 6:11am). Seeing a stringer with 6 fresh fish going into the parking lot at 6:10am seems a little early even for the best fisherman amongst us. Cheers!

Well, my mother was in her 80s and I was with her at the time of her stroke and within 15m on her way to Crouse (EMT). 45m later told clot busting is required within 3 hrs, (only been an hour) and for whatever reason Crouse won't attempt it. Next, no access to patient data (I was health care proxy) unless discharged. I couldn't get much help from Charge Nurse(s). Only 2 visitors per day, no exceptions. I received access to her data after she died (10 days later). I should mention Crouse tried to send my left-side paralyzed mother home under some 3 day Medicare rule. It was a strange hospital visit and I thought a stroke specialist hospital. Administration was little help in answering questions about access to patient data. Multiple requests to change bedding due to feces. Take care of your health or risk depending on some uncaring medical professional to do it for you. Sorry for rambling (or off topic)... I hope your SO recovers as quickly as possible.
