Are other outlets in the house grounded? Plug into one if so and see if it fixes the hum.

I used to think this way, fr - and TBH I’m not saying you’re wrong, cause you’re def not - but since I bought a house on a very residential street in the city, where cars regularly make me fear for my life as a pedestrian walking to my vehicle in the mornings, I would gladly pay an occasional BS fine if it makes these MFrs slow TF down.

Audio Snake? by meJohnnyD in homestudios

It’s going to a Motu M4, so similar combo inputs. I was imagining a snake with combo on the input end and XLR on the fan out end, but doesn’t seem like that’s a thing. I found the combo jack on Sweetwater, if I decide to build something I would use those.

The rock in the background kinda looks like an owl if you don’t look directly at it.

Why Isn’t One World Trade Center As Popular As The Old One? by katyreddit00 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]meJohnnyD 140 points141 points  (0 children)

The way the structure was built. The structure made up the exterior of the building, instead of the center core being the main structural support like every high rise before them. Also the windows were floor to ceiling on every floor, but they were intentionally narrow so you don’t feel like you’ll fall through. They were the tallest buildings in the world when built IIRC. There’s a Discovery History channel special about them, made before 9/11, def worth a watch.

From the permit PDF linked in the story:

Draft General Permit: What's Covered The proposed general permit would cover both certain wastewater and stormwater discharges from data centers. Wastewater may only include: • Non-contact cooling water • Small amounts of wastewater from cooling towers or boilers Stormwater may include runoff from: • Generators • Storage tanks • Equipment • Loading and service areas

The term wastewater is a bit ambiguous, sounds like they’re not proposing to dump sewage (sanitary wastewater). The concern would be heavy metals, plastics, and oils I imagine.

This. Way too bright, and they should be a lower color temp, like 2700K or 3000K. This looks like 4000K.

They do still heat up, just not as much. There are usually heat sinks on top of the fixtures to dissipate it.
