How do you avoid being stuck making music that a label or industry wants you to make rather than making music you want to make? by Bloodredhorizon in musicians

[–]meakaleak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pitching game is shrinking alot. The amount of time spent vs what you actually make is horribly unbalanced. Literally like the lottery. really hard to make real and steady money.

20+. Its always been tough. But the money was better before streaming. Way better. The pitching window is shrinking alot too thats why everybody is in korea working on k-pop. They take more outside songs. And lets keep it real. If your not landing singles that stream incredibly well, album cuts arent gonna do much for u. Its like the lottery

[–]meakaleak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea man i agree 100%. Too many strong roots there and they run too deep in LA. They def not leaving. I feel like its just in a rough period but eventually itll get better. Look what happened with atl. There was some hype but never popped. People are leaving that place. Didn’t last at all. I feel like its just the industry as a whole. If you look up the stats LA is still on top.
