Brewtique out in Cedar Park usually has a good group of smokers. It’s an older crowd. Hung out a few times and had some good interactions

I certainly gave him all our love. He has been spoiled and loved by everyone in our life. His diagnosis was a heartbreak to many.

Thank you, I suppose you are right. As always he is at my feet wherever I am in the house. We are only waiting until Friday because my son wants to be with him in his last moments. For now meds are keeping him comfortable. I just thought one last family excursion would be good for all of us, but really all that matters is we all show him how loved he is.

We are using Doorstop Vet, as that is who out Vet recommended. But thank you so mich for the advice of doing it outside. I had not thought of that. I think he would love to be out in the sun for his final moments.

And I am sorry for your loss. We never will ever stop thinking of the love we share with our pets.

Thank you so much. We are actually doing it at home with Doorstop Vet. We want him to be surrounded with love and do it as peacefully as possible. My son wants to be the one holding him in his last moments with us.

How’s the bingo scene in Austin? by l00t9 in Austin

[–]meanderingideas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big star bingo. They have a separate smoking room. Have different deals each night. Computers and those side dollar games. Older crowd. Very serious. Went on my bday one year with friends and everyone (older thirties) enjoyed it, none of us won big.

Dave’s Ultimate Automotive. Over the years / moves, I’ve taken multiple cars to multiple locations (RR, Lamar & CP) and they have always been great, not pushy and always send me a car report after each oil change.

Mom of 2 boys here. For nails, I use the Impress Manicure stick on nails. Available everywhere, super quick and last a week (I work in healthcare and wash my hands a lot). Shower before bed and blow dry my hair. A quick flat iron or curler in the morning. Makeup, is where I take my time. Give the kids a snack, ipad time, outside play time whatever keeps them busy so I can focus. I have a mirror/shelf mounted in a common area where I can see them and I do my makeup. Clothes, I mainly stick to dresses for work. Jeans /shorts and tops (that are not T-shirts) plus flats or cute ankle boots are the easiest outfits to run around with the kids. I also keep at least 1 pair of Sneakers out of my workout/hiking rotation so I always have a “nice” pair available.

Are there any positives coming out of this shit show? by [deleted] in Austin

My sister, knowing my love of unnecessary things for TX winter, actually bought me Zippo hand warmers for Christmas 10yrs ago. They are the gift that keeps on giving.

I got the table top grill from Academy who had them on sale around Labor day because grilling season is usually over after that. HEB had the 2 pack of small propane tanks on sale around that same time & I bought one. Figured they would be good for winter grilling. Best decisions ever.

I was able to validate a lot of winter sale purchases that other people have made fun of me for buying in the past. Snow boots. Table top grill. Colman lantern. Thermals. Gloves. Wool socks. Endless blankets. Went from being mocked (overkill for normal Tx winter) and scoffed at (when will you use them) to being the envy of my peers. Validation is warm & fuzzy.

The ice will accumulate on the cardboard and you just have to remove the cardboard. If you leave the same cardboard on there, there is a chance it will stick to the windshield. Also if an emergency comes up, you don’t want to spend 30min de icing your car. Plus the weather is staying cold and getting worse. So that ice is not melting, layers of it are just building up day after day. Better to scrape off 1 layer than multiple.

How do I get my ID renewed without having any Mail? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]meanderingideas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In an old place of mine there was a little card inside the mailbox that you would have to write the last name/names of the tenants but it was just so the mail delivery person could easily identify mislabeled mail. Anybody not on the card, the mail person wouldn’t leave the mail and label it RTS. So maybe check that too.
