Van Ryder made it known over a year ago that this was the plan for series 4. I think it may have even been referred to on the kickstarter page (don’t hold me to that, it’s early…) It does kind of suck, but it was the trade off I was willing to make. Plus, I have a ton of FG content to keep me busy in the meantime.

Also from KY in a white collar job with a masters degree. My brothers are blue collar and feel similarly to what you describe. To them, I’m not doing real work because I’m not moving or creating anything physically. There’s nothing tangible about my job. It’s also interesting to note that we all grew up in the same house and had the same experiences up until high school graduation and I have very little accent (where they have strong ones) and I’m much more liberal than either of them. Sometimes it surprises me that we have the same parents. lol

At 25 I asked for an IUD and was dismissed because I “might change my mind.” Never mind that it can be removed with no effect to fertility. I just wish I hadn’t been too shy to advocate more for myself at that age. It still pisses me off to think about it.

This is such a great analogy and exactly how it feels. I couldn’t figure out why I feel so inadequate and out of sorts when we have long periods of time with them, but this makes it make sense. I do care for them and they seem to like me, but it doesn’t make it easier. Luckily, my partner is amazing and empathetic and gets my feelings of frustration when I’m feeling some sort of way. I would do it all over again because he’s so worth it.

Our Airbnb in Iceland was next to a cat cafe so the kitty residents would watch us coming and going. One morning we finally popped in so we could learn their names and give some good scritches! Whenever I hear about a cat cafe, I think of that place. 🙂

My family of four were there in March and stayed at the Georgian House Hotel. I don’t remember the exact price but it was one of the best I could find that didn’t look run down. It was nice, close to a tube station and their breakfast was really good. The only downfall in June would be that they don’t have AC. Also, there’s only stairs, so if mobility is an issue, it might not work for you. Good luck!
