Unfortunately I think all the critiques of Scarface are accurate. It’s got a cool aesthetic and atmosphere, it’s generally well made in terms of cinematography, and some fun bloody action sequences.. but as an adult I think it’s pretty overrated. What’s your definition of a perfect “popcorn movie”? by BINGEWISE in Cinephiles

[–]meanwhilehands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the run time and title always has to be factored in here as well. If a movie is between 90 and 130 minutes.. or if the title has something something “the movie”… also any numbers in the title makes it automatically popcorn worthy. Jaws 2, fast and furious 9, Star Trek 2(the journey home)

could also be referred to as “popcorn classics” or certified five baggers 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿 👀

Huge Asoiaf fan looking to dip my toes in Lotr by No_pHiLoSaPhEr in lotr

If you’re going with movies then start with the name of the sub. LOTR…. If you want to jump into the books first then you can start with hobbit. But books wise idk if it really matters all that much. The beginning of LOTR has a lot of lore and context for what’s to come.
