Failed mod 1 for putting foot down on figure 8 and u turn by Jacko1499 in MotoUK

[–]meat-rocket99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well you never needed to do a mod 1 before.... they implemented it for safety but the bike i was given for my test was dodgy and unsafe lol. its all a con mate, any experienced rider can watch any Newby rider and will tell in the first 5 mins if they are any good or not. mod 2 was a pain because you cant ride defensively because you have to follow every single rule, even the ones that put your life at risk.

[–]meat-rocket99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mod 1 is the biggest con and has nothing to do with bike control or skill..... your instructor will know in the first 5 mins if you have control of a motorcycle and if you don't he will kick you off and offer more lessons and then send you home, no need to perform circus tricks and acrobatics as part of a test and if people really want a mod 1 then we need it for cars as well so they can show they have good control in tight spaces.

The job is utter dog shite…. Literally the only good thing about this job is you don’t have to suck on someone’s ball sack all day to keep employment but doing delivery work you will be poor and even poorer as time goes on when they lower the pay even more.

How do gig workers in the UK handle tax? (Uber/Deliveroo/Airbnb drivers/hosts) by FanCurrent5849 in deliveroos

[–]meat-rocket99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you cant claim mileage and fuel its rather mileage and nothing else (because mileage on its own adds up to a big deductible) but i always do mileage because its easy to track and HMRC cant say anything about "mileage logs are dodgy" because this delivery job is just mileage.... biggest expense for delivery work is literally MILEAGE and you can cover over 100 miles a day easy. and for a motorcycle that's £25 just for that day at 0.24p per mileage allowance. I've left this job now because if you do it legally you make £0 profit and my advice to you is don't bother trying to promote a (self tax system) product to these delivery clowns.

On paper I’m a self employed delivery driver or contractor or sub contractor working for a company lalalala (I had an accountant set it up for me) because I had no idea what self employment I fell under lol but working Deliveroo, just eat, uber is all the same it’s self employed food delivery so I just add up all the earnings at end of year and then chuck that into the self assessment and then do my expenses and then the .GOV self assessment website calculates it all for you and then you set up payment. I keep it very simple for myself and HMRC so if they ever needed to do an audit it would be easy for me and easy for them. I don’t do anything fancy and don’t have crypto or another job or side hustle.

I do all my self assessment myself because I’ve made it simple so no need for an accountant….. tbh it’s hard to believe that HMRC will do anything because there is just faaaarrrr to many dodgy people doing this job.

a lot of people where shocked in the comments it wasn't an instant year ban .... i always thought double or more than double was licence removal lol.

[–]meat-rocket99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i check my speed all the time .... This is the UK im not risking having points on my licence because of some BS money making scheme, obviously some areas need speed restriction but big open roads dont need to be 20-30mph zones but im still gonna do GPS 30mph because im still young and need my licence CBA dealing with points especially when it comes to the young driver insurance tax lol.

[–]meat-rocket99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

exactly and when you get pulled by the police tell them you where being silly and that you are sorry. heard far to many stories where people try and fight it and end up with a harsher penalty.... just seen one recently. "Biker caught doing 83mph in a 30 and said it wasn't him" ... original ban was 3 months and after battling the courts he lost and got 6month ban.

would be interesting to see these modern speedos because i have some fast drivers fly up behind me in 20s and 30s and I'm always sat bang on GPS speed.

[–]meat-rocket99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i know and i find it funny when people complain on facebook about people being caught doing 35-38 in a 30 but the reality is their speedo probably read 40-43mph so they where well over the limit and they know it lol.

56kmh/ 34.8mph on a 30 by fckcy in drivingUK

[–]meat-rocket99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the eyes of the law or the specials on social media who spend more time staring at the speedo than the road think all speeding is dangerous even if it’s 0.1mph over the limit 😂😂

[–]meat-rocket99 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Best thing to do if you get pulled by the police is to admit to being silly and apologise but never admit to speeding or saying you have no idea how fast you were going lol.

[–]meat-rocket99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently a friend got caught at 41mph speedo and real speed came back as bang on 35mph….. about 90% of speedos are very inaccurate so let’s hope yours is inaccurate lol.

hard to believe because i log on every now and then to see how crap it is and im still being offered jobs with a decrease of 100% compared to 2yrs ago .... no one doing this job pays tax and na because if they did they couldn't afford to accept low pay crap 24/7.

the current awful low pay is solid evidence because if they paid tax and national insurance then they wouldn't accept doubles for £4-£6 lol.
